IM ABOUT TO BE HIT BY HURRICANE FRANCES! oh well.. hopefully ill be back to the TMF sometime

Bass
I hope and pray there isn't much damage and injury in that hurricane path I know Florida doesn't need another one after the one that just went through there Keep your head down ok?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bass~we just met...please be safe! Let us know you're fine?

XOXO

Yep. It's a mess down there again. My friend in Punta Gorda was finally able to get online to let me know how they're doing from Charley, only to have it arrive about the same time that Frances was about to deal them a second blow. And, there may be a third blow. Ivan is looking possible to track up that way too. God help Florida and surrounding territories!

Ann

Bass, hope everythings OK with you down there, I'm about to get a little taste, but it won't be near as bad, Frances has been downgraded to a tropical storm, so it won't hit Alabama nearly as hard. From what I've seen, it's not looking great, but not as bad as it could be, anyway, let us know if you're ok.

Just got off the phone with Dad...
My family's OK down in the Daytona area, it's still pouring, but the wind's died considerably. God only knows when the power's coming back on.

My uncle down in Deltona made the mistake of wanting to go outside to have a cigarette...he opened up his garage door, and the vacuum effect collapsed part of the ceiling in the garage, and it landed on my aunt's car. Later on, a tree fell on the house, but I have no specific damage reports.

Of course, others got off far worse.
🙁

Glad everyone's okay at least, Knox. We're keeping everyone in the path in our prayers...now and while the clean-up and rebuilding is going on. People often forget that half the injuries occur after the storm has passed.

Ann

I'm hoping they get the power back on as soon as possible, Ann. My aforementioned uncle in Deltona lived out in Long Island for the attack of Gloria back in late September 1985, and it was days before LILCO got the power back on.

I think I have a few new gray hairs.

Good to hear Knox! 😛

Everyone else in Florida OK out there?
XOXO

hey everybody.. made it through alright.. lost power for a few days, lots of trees down.. no real significant damage done though.. thanks everybody

and now that im not so tired.. time for a more accurate account of hurricane frances.. and let me just say before this, that i am 19 years old.. so that should help put the story into more perspective.. i spent the morning of the 4th (the day it was projected to start hitting us, im in orlando) at work.. i work in the service deli at a grocery store.. so me and my manager had to take all the perishables (pretty much EVERYTHING) from our department and move it to different coolers in preparation of a power outage.. i worked 6am-11am, and then from 11-11:30 i had to stand outside and wave people off telling them we were closed.. one dude actually tried to fight me haha..

so then i got home and figured it would be best not to go anywhere, as the expectations of this hurricane seemed immense. so i spent the rest of the day sitting around, eating, and playing video games (im a video game freak).. now when nighttime came around, it was supposed to be when we would be getting hit very hard.. so me.. i popped about 4 prescription sleeping pills and i was fine 😎 haha

i awoke the next morning to the sounds of the rain and wind, as the 70+ mph winds were still going strong and it had been raining since the day before.. i got out of bed at 8:30 am, and SUDDENLY... boom, power goes out... now let me tell you.. the next 8 hours were the worst and most boring hours of my life.. i was trapped in my house with none other than my immediate family.. and no thats not a good thing for me.. i spent most of the time sleeping, playing guitar (my only hurricane supply haha), or reading some of my textbooks.. the winds and rain and storms continued throughout the day, but the worst of it was over by about 4pm. at that point, i called my buddy who lives on the other side of town, and he still had power.. so i packed my things up (not really) and headed over there..

haha so then from 4pm sunday until 11pm monday night (when i got home finally) i spent the day the way it should be spent when a storm is hitting you and is bigger than the state you are in.. WASTED.. me and 4 or 5 buddies.. drinking smoking.. all day all night.. haha

the aftermath of the storm was not as bad as expected (not even CLOSE to the damage from charly).. many places lost power, but it was soon restored.. minor flooding of ponds, streams, creeks, rivers, lakes, etc.. nothing too major.. there werent too many trees down this time either, as charly didnt leave many standing.. and now things are basically getting back to normal, except for the prospect of Ivan hitting us also.. oh well.. ill be ready for it

so theres my experience with frances.. i hope everybody/anybody else who experienced it made it through alright

hey bass..glad to see that ya made it okay, and i feel ya brah!..no power, no video games..no video games..no madden 2005 collectors edition..life just wouldnt go on for me! lol
