i love a good storm as well i was in texas during hurricane ike that was nuts

Headed straight for New Orleans now, where many residential areas are below sea level. Not good. 🙁

Made it out of Ft. Lauderdale by the skin of my teeth at noon yesterday, right before hundreds of flights were canceled, just as the “heavy stuff” started piling in (and I used the quotes, because compared to Wilma in 2005, this was a sun shower).

May all those in the path of this storm be safe. If you are told to get out, do it! Nothing you own is worth losing a life over.

This is a real bad set-up for New Orleans for storm surge potential. Lets hope those new levees hold up. Plus a ton of rain for eastern La. and Mississippi. I hope it doesn't intensify a lot at the last minute.

I hope people there learned their lessons from Katrina.

I have a friend outside of New Orleans, and she says it's crazy out there. Went to the store to get necessities and supplies and it was complete chaos. People are pretty scared. I'll know more about how she weathered the storm later.

Man, looks like they'll never really recover from Katrina.........:sowrong:

Katrina & Issac.

Katrina reaches Louisiana on August 29, 2005 and Issac is to reach Louisiana tomorrow on the 29th. I have heard that it may eventually rain in Missouri which some parts haven't seen rain since May.
