I personally know of 2 people (College friends) that live in New Orleans, as well as a Aunt and Uncle that lived on the Mississippi Coast. I have heard from my Aunt and Unlce and although they lost their home, they are in good health and spirits, I offered them to come here to stay as well as another family of 4 that was next to them. I might not have much room, but I told them if they can get here, they are more than welcome. I hope that any of our TMFer's in the affected areas have faired well and are fine. I just wanted to send my prayers and support to those that need it. If anyone here in our community know of anyone in our community in those affected areas lets hope they are ok, and if you here anything please post it and let us know. As for me, even with the limited abilites I have I have voluenteered with the American Red Cross and I expect to be going to Mississippi in the next day or so. Please everyone give what you can....and pray.

Thats my dollar and 2 cents worth.

Also Please give to the American Red Cross, if not money give blood. They can use all the support they can get.

My thoughts are with fellow TMF member Jobelle...

And the news footage of the devistation tells me that she has nothing left. I feel so sorry for her and will; try and help with a donation to the Red Cross. My thoughts are with you Jobelle, and I am praying for you, your family and all those in Biloxi. :twohugs: :twohugs: :twohugs: :twohugs: :cuddle: :cuddle: :cuddle:

Touching thread, robace, and scribe. What happened to those who were affected by the Hurricane is nothing short of disasterous. Jobelle, my thoughts and prayers are with you, and all the others affected by Katrina. My mother and I will be donating money to the Red Cross to help the victims. They are a wonderful orginization, and this is a most worthy cause. My aunt was forced to move from her home in lower Manhattan due to the debris caused by the ashes of the World Trade Center after 9-11, and the Red Cross was extremely helpful to her in providing money for the transition, along with FEMA.
Hopefully, with the aid of the Red Cross, and kindhearted citizens, the victims of Katrina can at least receive some compensation after the devestating events they have been through.

I have high school friends down there. I don't know what happened to them. My parents are further north so all they had happen was a tree branch fall through a shed (oh, and the power is out for a couple of weeks.) But I worry about what's going to happen to people, they aren't used to it like they are in Florida (sigh.)

I hope, though I know it won't happen, that there will be a new New Orleans somewhere else... with all the levies and the erosion, the land will be gone in the geologically near future.
