*sigh*

I'm just growing accustomed to my new roof.

From the local news...

"A tropical depression has formed between Honduras and the Cayman Islands. The system could become a tropical storm during the next day or two as it moves slowly northward. Hurricane Hunters from Keesler Air Force Base are investigating the area of disturbed weather."

There's always a price for luxury. I love having a sandy backyard and I adore that I can go for a swim in the Gulf of Mexico by taking a 10 seconds walk from the back door, but damn.

Damn.
Damn.
Damn.

Hurricanes are exciting and they pump the adrenaline, but.....blah...damn. They break things.

I wish good luck to my other coastal neighbors...and apologies to the rest of the country that will endure the non-stop coverage which even grows old to those of us living it.

June 1st sucks.

:disgust:

I'm sending angels to hold huge umbrellas over you guys this year, Joby.

How I wish it were that easy. A dear friend of mine is STILL recovering from last year's round of crazy storms. (He's in Punta Gorda.) I hope this year's season is easier on everyone!

I'm certainly not looking forward to the new season, especially after surviving last year. Maybe it's time to move back north :dropatear

I'm not sweating Arleen too much, although I'll be leaving work right about when she's supposed to be hammering us tomorrow night. However, it does seem a tad ominous that the first 'named' storm of the season is following virtually the same course as Hurricane Ivan did, heading right for us. Here's hoping we stay out of harm's way this year. :fish:

My thoughts and best wishes go out to all on the other coast that everyone is safe, and that no harm comes to any of the wonderful members here ..I have no idea how scared some of you may be from threatening hurricane season ,the best I can do from here is give plenty of warm hugs, tickles hoping to drive the Hurricanes away :twohugs: :twohugs: :twohugs: :grouphug:

In Alabama, where I am(mid part of the state), it's windy and it rains a lot. Not real bad but a lot of flooding happens, it sucks.

We're still reeling from hurricane Ivan, so everybody got sorta antsy with this first storm heading directly for us. Fortunately, it was a complete non-event. I'm considering having a I Survived Hurricane Arlene `05 shirt airbrushed...

I hear ya Jabooky, and I'm ever so sorry you lovely folks down on the coast are looking towards another hellacious hurricane season. Obviously up in Wisconsin we don't get hurricanes, but we deal with our own sepcial terror being in "Tornado Valley". In the past 1-2 weeks, there have been over 70 tornado touch downs already in our state. We had storms every single damn day that keep producing more and more. Lazzy and I live in a mobile home, 15 miles from a region of total flat-land in central Wisconsin known as "tornado central". This entire area has been destroyed by storms so many times it makes a persons head spin. And we're just across the field from it. Needless to say, I've been terrified since the first of June hit. It's gonna be a looooooooong summer. I just hope it lets up soon. At least for a while.

I'll keep all of you in my prayers and cross my fingers that they've over-estimated this upcoming summers storm power, and that you all wind up with a mild and calm summer afterall. Here's hoping we all get through the summer with our homes, hearts, and minds intact.

Jo -

I'd say move to California, but there's earthquakes, fires and mudslides there.

Texas has tornados and heatwaves.

The east coast has rainstorms and blizzards.

Utah has Mormons.

Alaska - blizzards & polar bears.

Hawaii - tidal waves - and volcanos!

The midwest has tornados and floods.

Florida...well, more hurricanes!

Sorry hon, I have no answer, just hoping you get through!
