This is an adult website for people (mainly men) to get their sexual fix (whether everyone is here for that reason or not or it's even sexual for them is another topic). At it's very base and core, it's not meant for people to act like gentlemen and it's definitely not encouraged in the media. Women are displayed as play-things in the photos and videos and men are encouraged to indulge by having their way with them in whatever manner excites and fulfills their fantasies the most. That is the nature of porn. Women are further devalued, dishonored, and disrespected because of fetishes because their body parts are singled out, and these are of more importance to the fetishist than the person herself in many cases. The very nature of the media (which often times trickles down to forum behaviors and thought patterns) isn't about getting to know anyone or respect them. It's about getting a cheap thrill and moving on to the next flavor or turn on.

There is inherently no incentive to be a gentleman on an adult website, even if there are rules which encourage it. It takes people with actual class to be a gentleman, since the environment isn't naturally such that it would be as it should and realistically. So, my point is, the men here who go above and beyond in the areas of respect, dignity, morals, and class, deserve kudos and to be respected themselves, because they are in the midst of temptation and lewd behavior, yet they do not give in or comport themselves in any less a manner. It's all around them, it's advertised to them, and they're pressured and tempted by other people's activity. It's audial and it's visual. They're surrounded by it every time they visit. That they are not disposed to or given into the power of the media, this site, or it's influence, proves, in my opinion, the true character of a man and how he stands out in the midst of perverts and deviants.

That's great work on the management's part. I just meant that amongst the general population, I never got the sense that everyone here helps police the place. I know there are watchdogs. Over the years, I've seen some teens inadvertently say something that reveals their age and the conversations just rolled along. It's not like the very next post was from a random member saying "LOCK THIS THREAD!! MINOR!!!! ALL HANDS ON DECK..."

So whereas it was likely caught by the admins and handled soon thereafter, I'm just stating that I've seen alot of people overlook some clues and keep talking and it didn't really register. I've probably done it myself.

I can honestly say that I fit the catagory of a man with class. It was the way I was raised and the way I live my life everyday. It makes me sick to see desperate men harrassing the few females who come to this site. I guess its just on a basis of morals. If you were refering only to mankind's propensity to do bad or evil in the general sense, then thats not an excuse either, as one is only subjected to the proposal to commit an act, but is not forced to go through with it.

No they do it because they care for their sister/daughter and don't quite understand what is going on. And on a lot of occassions they turn out quite right to be cautious and protective. They're men and they know how a lot of men act/think and behave.

See, it confused me and made me think you were contradicting your earlier statement because you said "we have an excuse to be vile", and I took that, at the time you said it, as meaning something along the lines of 'we have it built into us to be vile so it's only natural to go with it', which, in relation to the fetish, would mean reckless abandon and wanton surrender is good, which, I am glad and relieved to see you disagree with and are against as well.

I just think she should be given more credit. Sure, they could sit her down and have the "how not to get kidnapped and raped by somebody you meet on the Internet" talk, but they don't have to "ban" her from here. That isn't necessary or healthy in my opinion.

Thank you. I try to put some deeper thinking into the issues that are brought to my attention or those that mean something to me. It's just my way. I don't think it would feel natural to act or type any differently.

Some of its trappings--politeness, not being a boor--are certainly positive. But as a conceptual framework, demanding that a male be a gentleman in his treatment of a female has its share of negative implications, including the way it patronizes and disempowers the woman in that exchange. (And that's entirely apart from the ugly class assumptions that have historically attached to the term but which it has largely recently shed.)

I mean, if what we're saying is that dudes need to treat women with respect and dignity and without a sense of their own entitlement, what we're really saying is that the dudes should behave like feminists.
