Because of the winter we've had, potholes that were previously not so bad, got worse and those in poorer areas of the city got ignored. There were pictures of pot holes will whole giant garbage cans fit entirely inside. Not just one, but many. News of peoples' cars getting damaged or even totaled. It was a mess. So, while I'm not sure outdoor sensors would work or not, the fact is, I highly doubt anyone would want to put the work in, at least here.

Jesus! Those are some major potholes! If Illinois is like the other 48 states with a deficit, those holes aren't likely to get fixed any time soon. :|

They really need to hop on board with fixing the roads over there before somebody gets killed.I know they would never build tracks with sensors for cars but it would make things a bit safer if all you had to do was steer your car and not have to worry about what speed you are going to go because the sensors set your speed and distance for you.

I would laugh for days if I saw someone hit one of those giant potholes. Especialy they were driving like one of those little tiny Geo Metros.

Schemes have been suggested for high-speed operation of individual motor vehicles on a conventional road lane by linking the controls to radar sensors on board to keep the vehicles in line at constant distances. I never saw any consideration of tire blowouts in this discussion.

I did too and I am still confused as to how in the world it did.An investigation is pending and they think that one of the trains that were supposed to switch tracks didn't because the track didn't move into place and he backed into the other monorail train.Even if that is the case somebody should have saw this and pushed the emergency cut off button.There is enough of them.
