There are some songs that remain with us forever because they touch us in some way; brings back fond memories, has a beautiful melody, speaks to a given situation in our life... then you hear a song that is sooo terrible it makes you want to plunge icepicks in your ears. This thread is dedicated to songs we wish had never entered our consciousness.

I know a lot of younger people will dispute this, but one day while working out at the gym, a song came on the speakers that nearly made me drop the weights on my foot. I wanted to purge, the song was so bad! The song? Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body". Maybe it's good to someone, but it makes me wanna throw up.

Please list the songs you love to hate.

I agree. It is not good.

Do you remember a couple of years ago, that song "who let the dogs out", that one drove me crazy.

The strange thing about "Who Let The Dogs Out" is that some people actually love it. That's the thing about music; one person's trash is another person's treasure, and vice versa.
This song made it to #1 on the charts back in 1976 and I couldn't stand the way the guy "sang". This was an early example of crappy rap*, in a way: "Convoy", by C.W. McCall. I listen to it every now and then just to laugh.

*Not all rap is crappy, by the way. I just meant that if this was a rap song, it would be one of the crappiest.

At this point... there are too many bands and songs to name, but I will say that Eminem annoys the shit out of me....

I can't count how many times I've had that one really annoying son "My milkshake brings the boys to the yard, blah blah blah..." I mean, it took less talent to write that song than it does to pee standing up. I find it so sad that the music companies put whoever has a sexy body on a cd cover.

Exactly along the lines of what my responce was gonna be MrMac lol.

Song I hated when they came out, and I still hate:

"Get out of my dream , get into my car" Billy Ocean
"Dancing on the ceiling" Lionel Ritchie
"Rock-a-bye" Dont know who the guy is (I actually like the song, but I hate the word "Rock-a-bye" in it. Just ruins the song for me)
"Let the rain fall down" Hillary Duff
"I'm not in love" the 90's disco remake. Not the original 10-CC song. I love the original. tlak about ruining a great song.

What about those songs that, when they first came out, you hated them, but now, years later you love them. And not just because they remind you of the time you were a kid, but because they are good songs. The one that comes to my mind is "Dust in the wind" by Kansas. I absolutely hated that song when it came out when I was a kid. But now I love it. There are also songs that I loved when they first came out, but now I can't listen to them. Some disco songs that I loved when they came out now make me ant to cring.

There have been a few stinkers in the uk charts of late. Recent No.1's, Babycakes & These words, have been inhumanly horrifying!

One word say's it all:::::::::::::::

And I don't care if I spell it right.......

MACAREANA

worst song on the planet;:sowrong: :sowrong: :sowrong:

okay, wait a darn minute here. Convoy by CW McCall was tremendous!!! Have you ever heard "Wolf Creek Pass" - thats another of his gems.

alright, how about

- anything by weird al, and

- anything by celine dion

If I listed all the songs I hate, I'd probably end up with writer's cramp. Although one that sticks out is "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" by Culture Club.
And I heard this awful pop song a couple times this week by this gal who keeps yodeling "Whoa-o Whoa-o!" This was actually making me nauseaous.

Theres a lot, but recently it was that 12 year old JoJos song about a relationship..what the f*ck does she know about relationships?? seriously, terrible song!

well put Baron. her songs keep on going and going and going like the energizer bunny. what was the song of hers? from titanic, My song will go on? lol

I used to hate "Ring My Bell", by Anita Ward. Her high pitched voice and those electronic drums made me want to barf... then time went on and now, I really love that song.
But there's one song that, when I heard the opening guitar riffs, I thought, "Man, that's some kick ass playing", only to hear a guy start yodeling (yes, yodeling!), making the song suck, was "Hocus Pocus", by Focus! The long version contains whistling, as well. Couldn't those guys have just played guitar instead of doing all that silly nonsense?

Oh, and Baron, I really do like "Convoy" now... but it's those lyrics... "...they even had a bear in the air...", "We're about to go huntin' bear",... I find it hilarious!

anything by:

Tupac

Usher

Mystikal

Creed

Houston

50 Cent

...YUCK :sowrong:

FEH! Screw you guys, I got you ALL beat...

All of you make some damn good points, and I agree with so much of you, BUT you all suck when it comes to finding the WORST SONG EVER MADE! FOR YOU SEE, I HAVE FOUND, ALWAYS KNOWN THE WORST SONG EVER AND HERE IT IS!

"The Locomotion"

In ANY incarnation, this is the absolutely ultra-uber-mega-supremo-undeniably worst fucking song of ALL time! I will burn the original master of this song if I ever get my hands on them!

I FUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKINGFUCKING

Amnesiac, are you referring to Little Eva's original version from 1962, Grand Funk's 1974 version, or that 80-something version by... was it Kylie Minogue? Or do you just hate "Locomotion" altogether. Grand Funk's version really rocks.

I just heard a song today that fits in this category... it's by Nancy Sinatra and was a "hit" in the 1960's... it's main line goes "Shu shu shu... shu shu shu... shu-shu-shu-shu-shu shu, Sugartown..." Her dad should have disowned her.

It's funny that I should see this now, because last night I watched a two-hour special on VH1 regarding the VH1/Banner(? I think) Magazine selection of the fifty most awesomely bad songs ever made (their choice of words, not mine). Several of them are still stuck in my head, despite how much I hate them.

Amongst the selection... something from a Swedish group called 'Rednex' that combined American country-western and disco to make something that's... really, really bad, but it takes a Mafia beating to get out of one's head.

Also, "Barbie Girl".

Y'know "Too Sexy" had to be there... but, God help me, I LOVE THAT SONG.

I wish I could remember the #1 most awesomely bad song ever made... wait, no I don't. Ugh, just to put the name of it up here... it was something by Starship.

I saw that show. The song was "We Built This City" by, yes, Starship.

I loved convoy when it came out and I like it now. I hate locomotion, in any form. Even Kylie Monogue couldn't save that thing for me. And another song I hated, every version of it, is the song that goes "Hey, kids, rock and roll, rock on" I hate that song. it is a song that should be cool but just isn;t, and therefore, sucks royally to me.
