I can't get rid of the "1" unread message

For a good week now my pm count has shown "1" unread message. And yet there is no unread message.

Any ideas? It's only an annoyance but it's one I'd like to get rid of!
 
A lot of us have them after the recent server issues. I do also. So far nothing has cleared them. We'll keep at it.
