I finally confessed my tickling fetish to a friend

finally, after so many years of holding it back, I confessed my tickling fetish to my best friend.
Until last week nobody knew about it, except tickling partners I've had over the years - who were strangers to me before we met for that purpose, and with whom I'm no longer in contact. That was the first time I came out of the tickling closet with someone I've known for years.
My friend is my age, she was my girlfriend in high school for some time, and after we broke up and each went our own way we remained very good friends. We used to tell each other things we wouldn't tell anyone else, but this I kept secret - now I don't know why I held it back... I guess I was fearful of her reaction.
She was shocked at first, but recovered quickly and was very supportive - I don't know why I never told her that before. She also said that it makes things much more interesting when you keep finding out new things about a friend even after so many years.
The conversation ended with her saying "now I know what to get you for your birthday..." unfortunately my next birthday is 9 months away!

I once told a friend. I knew it wouldn't be too bad telling him though, he's a guy who kind of liked me and I knew he would use that bit of info to his advantage. lol

I don't know if it will indeed lead to something tangible, my friend can't stand being tickled and never thought of it as something that can actually be fun; but no matter what happens, I feel good about telling her. I'm glad your "confession" was well received.... it's not always the case. I've told several friends of mine about it, and all of them were cool with it. As I recall, A LOT of alcohol was involved before it came out, and it was only after one of the friends I was talking to told me she really enjoyed pain during foreplay (I guess in an S&M kind of way). After learning that little tidbit, my kink seemed a bit more tame for some reason. It was funny though, because after I told her my kink, she said that she could take all the pain I could dish out, but DON'T tickle her! Isn't it amazing how differently the body can register touch for different people?!

One word of caution for those reading this that HAVEN'T come out about your love for tickling..... even if it is well received, it might complicate any tickle play with that person in the future (unless you become romantically involved with them). Innocent tickle fights that happen between friends take on a different feeling for the people involved if it's known how much you really enjoy that kind of play (if you admitted that it can be sexual for you), so some friends might opt out of tickling you because of that. But then again, it could go the other way too, like it did for Heavenlee (which also happened with one of my guy friends...although he never cuffed me 😉 ). I guess it's a risk you take.
