A little over an hour ago, I found out I have a job over the summer! It's my first paid employment after having so much bad luck finding one for the past 6 years.
I'll be working in a university halls of residence doing room maintence for foreign students visiting. I actually applied for the same job last year, but I was turned down, and boy did it make my summer miserable. My contract lasts 8 weeks: 18th June to August 22nd (my parent's wedding anniversary and two days before my 22nd birthday). My hourly pay is £5.00, and will be working anywhere between 40-50 hours. Additional perks include free meals and free accommodation within those 8 weeks, so I guess it ain't too bad a deal! However, this also means I won't have access to my ISP, so updating my artwork won't be plentiful.
Somehow 2004 has been a very lucky year for me, with a few nasty ups and downs. I've seen Arthur Lee and Love twice in about a month, my parents went away for 4 weeks and get along much better in recent years, the local area I live in has been named one of the trendiest spots in London right now, and of course winning that coveted Golden Feather in the TMF for my artwork. And finally... FINALLY... I have a paid job! Happy happy joy joy, happy happy joy...
