I pulled an all nighter, not because I felt obligated to do so, but because I was wrapped up in my own story. Finishing it, and really putting my heart and soul into it's pages, and finally I typed "THE END" late last night, well looking at my clock I should say... well I typed "THE END" some time this week. Anyways I wanted to share this news with everyone because I'm very excited about it. The idea for this novel just came to me one night, and I typed it up. At first it was supposed to be a comedy, but somewhere along the line it changed more into a drama, but the jokes are still there.

This book wasn't written like my last one either. I hate to say this, but my new novel actually has more human characters in it than my other one does. They talk, feel, fight. They don't always get along, and they aren't always happy, sad, or angry either.

Anyways my novel is about heaven and hell, without shoving religion down anyone’s throats. There are two main characters, both girls, ones a devil and the others a Angel. These two at first don't get along, but the angel's personality sparks a friendship between the two. Now I didn't write this with a traditional look at angels and devils. The devil girls worse crime in the book is stealing, and the angel even swears once.

Anyways I plan on smoothing out the rough edges sometime this week, and re-reading it to make sure everything is in order. The other reason I'm excited about finishing it is because I put everything else off. And I plan on making myself available for requests later on.

Oh and this is the biggest thing I've ever written. Over 150 pages long, and over 50,000 words in length. Not the biggest thing ever written, but compaired to my other works it is!

Wish me luck finding an editor!

Wow!

Congratulations on finishing your novel! =D I've done National Novel Writing Month for two years in a row now, as well as doing writing on the side, so I know how hard it is to get something like that done. Go out there and get noticed! Good luck on finding an editor. Let us know how it goes, 'kay?

Congrats !!!! Writing is tough, kudos for getting along far enough to look for a publisher. Best of luck to you.

Yeah I want to add pictures to this novel as well. So I'll have some pictures to go along with some parts of the story. There's is a scene towards the end of the book where the devil girl is flogged, and since the angel couldn't stop her tormentor because of an invisible barrier she hugged the devil girl from behind and took the beating for her. I'm not into that sort of thing, but it really says something when an angel takes a beating for a devil, right? Now the only problem is I don't have any money to ask for these pictures on commision, I feel like a bum asking for someone to draw them for me for free, and have them look half-way decent, so I'm kind of stuck here. I'm thinking about asking a friend to do them for me, he know's I'd pay him later for the drawings regardless if the books published, and regardless of the popularity of the book itself.

Congratulations! As somebody whose wanted to write and publish a book for more thenten years, it's always great to see somebody write up something themselves.

Thanks everyone! I decided to look for a professional editor to take care of my book.

Thanks again!

It does rajee, but at the same time I feel bad that it ended. I mean I spent hours and hours with these characters. I got advice from my best friend about the book, and we talked about these two characters like they were living, breathing people, so in a way it's like I'm loosing two friends. I know that sounds crazy to some, but I'm passionate about my work. I'll talk about these two characters like they are my sisters.

But thankfully I plan to write two sequels. I believe two more titles will best tell the entire story I have planned out. While I'm doing that I'll find someone to edit my book, and eventually publish it. This story though needs to be told, so if I don't find a way to publish it in a year than I plan on releasing it for free somewhere and let everyone know about it.

Anyways I think I should let in on these two characters. The devil girls name is Laurel. She's sort of a spoiled child type towards the beginning, but later on she has to face some difficult challenges. Not just the journey, but the decisions she has to make, and how those decisions effect her family. Erika is an angel who's very loving, and understanding. And it's really thanks to her that Laurel and Erika became friends in the first place. Erika never saw herself better than Laurel, and even saw the good side of the devil girl. Well that's really all I better give away....

Anyways thanks for the replies and encouragement. It means a lot!

Free, free... free?

It's free. I've published 2 children's books for free on www.lulu.com

Staff on www.lulu.com take 10% off each sale in order to help with publishing and keep the site running...I believe.

Besides that it's free.

Thank you! And you should try it. You don't have to make up a fictional story or anything, just write down what ever comes to mind. It's fun really.

Wow!!! So you don't have to pay a single thing? Like art in the book cover or something like that? That would be sweet!!!

These sites can be used to post work too, one of them is free, the other you have to pay for but you are guarenteed by it to get reviews.

1. www.fictionpress.com
2. www.fanstory.com -- this is the one you have to pay like, 20 some dollars a year I think it is to put up work.

yikes...that's a shame..

the thing about writing a novel on the computer, like on your word pad..i wonder how you can save each page separately?

What I do for chapters on www.fanfiction.net is I use Microsoft Word Works Processor, and then when I have a chapter read, I open up a blank Micosoft Word, copy that chapter to it, and turn it into a web based element, and then I submit it to fanfiction when I am ready.

Lulu has some free cover art or you can upload your own.

Lulu offers links to professional editors and graphics suppliers.
