I got tickled in the gym yesterday...

I don't expect this story to knock anyone's socks off, but thought I'd share it anyway.

Last night, I was at the gym talking to a lady friend of mine. She's one of those members of the opposite sex, who you get along with, but you've never really considered dating.

We were discussing the rest of our work-out. I told her I was going to do some ab stuff then go home. She said "you're going to work-out that sexy stomach..." Then she started tickling my stomach pretty hard. Getting my stomach tickled always makes me laugh, but I can hold it back for awhile. I fought back a smile and thought she would stop. But she kept at it and tickled me all over my stomach. She seemed determined. Finally, I just cracked up and she stopped.

It was kind of surprising. It made me think that just getting impromtu tickles during the day isn't something that happens much in adulthood. In school, girls and guys tickled each other on a daily basis and it was no big deal. Someone would say "hey, are you ticklish?" and tickle you like crazy, practically inviting you to tickle them back. Adults have to be more guarded, I guess.

I thought about tcikling her back, but I was too surprised and possibly a little embarrassed. But I still liked it!

Why haven't you considered dating her?

BBE, it sounds as though she likes you. She complimented your physique AND touched you, two green lights. Why is your foot still on the brake?

Unless she is THAT unattractive, why not invite her out?

No EE, she's not unattractive. Actually, she used to work for my dad and it's just one of those things. We get along very well, but she's not someone that I've ever wanted to date. But, if I find out she's a closet ticklephile to some degree, well, that's another story 😀

Well, BBE, isn't a date the way one gets to know someone better?

Invite to lunch this weekend. After the meal suggest going for a walk, just to be sure she wants time with you. If the conversation's going well and she seems game, bring up how she tickled you at the gym. If she's a tickle enthusiast, she won't let the topic drop.😉

Hey, that's possible. She wouldn't stop tickling me until I laughed. I think the "not giving up" factor is sign that you might have ticklephile tendencies.

Yes, I do think it's possible to be a ticklephile and not really know it. Someone might like tickling more than the average person, but not realize a community like ours exists. A girl I knew from high school was clearly a ticklephile, but didn't understand the depths of her fascination. I dated her for awhile and every single time we were together she either talked about tickling, tickled me, and/or invited me to tickle her back (by her actions, not her words). All she said about it was "I like tickling, it's fun..."

I have to admit that I used the tickle the heck of that girl.


She passed away about year ago. It's too bad because she really would've loved this community, and you all would've loved her too.
