I recently stumbled across a rare vintage game. some guys were trying to sell it at a used game store but couldn't buy it cuz owner stingy blah blah. trying to keep this short so will skip fine details. Longer story if interested.
I ask owner what was game. he says rare game. I ask WHAT GAME! he says Suikoden 1 & 2. I have 1. been looking for 2 for literally years. stopped the guy from leaving at his car. we negotiate price: 30$! Goes online for 120$+ disc alone 60$+
gave to friend for birthday who also has been looking for it same day. We are both replaying 1 to catch up. he plans to let me borrow when finished.

Question: does any one understand/appreciate what I just typed?

Although I have not played Suikoden, as a fellow gamer, I COMPLETELY understand your desire to have the game. I know that it's very rare and does sell online for alot. I had a similar experiance with a game, granted not nearly as rare or pricy but I wanted the game forever. I borrowed my friends copy of Disgaea and I got hooked. So for three years I searched for it. Then one day, to my surprize I was at the EBgames near my Aunt's house in Harrisburg, when I looked in the used games bin and what's staring at my face. A copy of Disgaea. My eyes grew so wide and I almost broke out in Larharl-esq laughter right there in the mall and then bought it.

It's tough for us gamers who like the awkward, not mainstream games.
 
Legend of Legaia, great game. Cool story behind getting that one too.
 
I played them... but I downloaded the rom version, so I know what it means... It means I have to find it also now 🙂

my friend is obsessed w/ .hack and i think Xenosaga is ok, but after FF10 I started to turn retro gamer. I sort of stopped paying attention to the new stuff

I can see how your friend is obsessed.
I was obsessed with it for a very long time until I understood everything in the story.
Same with Xenosaga.
So, I take it you've only played Xenosaga Episode 1: Dur Wille zur Macht. Yeah I can see how it can put people off, but by the third installment alot of those lose ends and incredebly annoying questions are answered.
But if you do wanna look at something new, let me recomend Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3: FES it's a rather dark game and if you've played or heard of the other Persona games it's kinda like those.

I have to say yes. I was lucky enough to have an avid RPG buff like myself as a roommate my senior year of college, and during that time I was able to not only play Suikoden 1 & 2 in their original form on the PSX, but thanks to his help and encyclopedic memory to find all 108 Stars of Destiny and earn the best ending in both games.

I'll say that you lucked out big time. Hope you enjoy the rare find. ^^

...I killed one of my 108 characters by assident my first try! :sad: I didn't know that could happen! I was trying to keep them all alive until part 2. And that makes me a sad panda.

It can be unforgiving. You have to play flawlessly from start to finish if you want to pull everything off. Good luck 😀
 
I am also looking for an old game

Its called Quest for Glory 5 Dragon Fire, I have the entire series except 5 and I can't fnd it anywhere,

I am also a .hack fanatic, especially after playing the GU installment I had to play the other four. The problem with me is that I have found volumes 2 and 3 of the original series but can't find the first or last and it is stupidly frustrating. (Like reading a book from the middle and not finishing, u don't know the starting or the ending) The other thing too is that I'm not a person who will make an online purchase because such companies as EBAY may have privacy statements about your information but they are only guidelines and not law, besides one mention of the word "Patriot Act" and any information requested must be given... the point is, I'm not giving any information online because it is too easy for it to get leaked so my EB Games search continues. X(
 
Only game I am fanatic about is Final Fantasy series... I have everyone of them on every console ever made... some even in two or more different languages... I AM FF FAN!

Yes.

Ever played a Game called Revenant? Bought it when it first came out; played it, and got stuck on the LAST LEVEL. it was a massive labyrinth, and I literally put the game down and did not touch it for five years or so.

When I did pick it up again, and beat it, I found the ending was unsatisfactory. I was dissappointed, because it was a GREAT game with a good premise. Sadly, it died with Ion Storm Studios.
