I want to do a short film on tickling fetish. Advice?

Hello!

I am a filmmaker in a Nordic Country and I have an idea for a short film about tickling fetish. It will definitely not be about the pornographic, but instead it would be watching someone with the fetish interacting with the rest of the society, showing the good and bad in owning a differing form of sexuality. It would be a part love story, part a story on an abusive relationship, it would have absurd humour and terrifying scenes as well.

I already have two actors in the bag and a team but the idea of talking about my fetish as a director to a group of "coworkers" seems terrifying. However, for personal and societal resons, I feel a strong need to tell this story. Would you have any advice on how to approach this subject with the different actors, actresses and crewmembers?

First of all good luck, I admit wouldn't even have courage to think about doing it. And the whole concept sounds really interesting.

I assume you are not asking about an advice regarding the plot of the film (though I admit I'm intrigued to read the script), but rather how to communicate your ideas with actors. I made few short films myself during college (later I focused more on writing), but I would give you one advice: No matter how hard it is, just be honest with your actors and crew. Tell them from the very begging what you want to do, so they have full knowledge of what they are getting themselves into. Being honest and transparent would save you a lot of potential problems later.

And I would like to add something hopefully encouraging. A lot of my friends in college made films talking about sex and relations, so I guess what you are trying to do is not totally unconceivable. And I think that as long as you are not filming a porn video, people might be more open to this idea that you imagine. And at the end of the day, it is just one of many fetishes, and I would add it's not even the weirdest or creepiest one of all. Frankly, the way you pitched it here sound good, especially this part: "someone with the fetish interacting with the rest of the society, showing the good and bad in owning a differing form of sexuality."
