So I had just came from the hospital. (More on that next post). And my gps took me on a different route back home. I already had to travel an hour to this particular hospital so when I saw a thrift store I decided just to take a few mins and check it out. Why not.

So I'm in there and I'm near the front. Gravitating to that purple purse I showed you yesterday. I thought it might be nice for whats happening on Monday. So I went up the owner and asked him if I could see it. He put his finger up and whispered for me to hold on. All the while he was looking past me towards someone behind a rack near the shoes. Now this man came in a couple mins behind me with a woman very close behind. But I was really checking out the purse hard lol. So when the owner did that I stopped for a second. The owner then said to “take those out of your shirt. I couldn’t understand what the other man was saying but it was aggressive. And back and forth a couple more times it went. I'm standing right near the owner when suddenly the guy comes charging up holding a knife.

Now he wasn’t just waving around this knife. He held his arm against his body so tightly and rigidly…. Honestly I've never been so afraid of a knife. And the way he held it was even scarier. Now the guys acting FURIOUS and AGGRESSIVE. Trying to bow up on this poor old man while yelling at him that “if he made a move to touch him he was gonna stab him, and everyone in here”.

This guy had no shirt on. (It was over his shoulder.) shorts and no shoes.

The guy was trying to steal some shoes for himself. And he made it crystal clear no one was going to stop him.

Meanwhile I just backed up slowly and knelt down behind the purse counter. It runs across my thoughts I may never get home to see my loved ones again if this went sideways.

Thankfully it didn’t he backed out yelling at the owner with his knife just as rigid. Walked out. Then walked back in. Then went back out. Turned around as if he was coming back in. But then turned around and yelled at the clouds as he walked right by the driver side of my car (very unnerving) and he went out down the street.

When he was far enough away I ran to the doors and locked it. Thankfully I had experience in the past with this type of lock. Took me a few tries I was shaking like crazy with adrenaline flowing. But I got it to lock. And he never came back.

Cops came. Owner decided not to press charges. But just wanted it known this guy is walking around with a knife out there. And with that they left. I was a little shocked over no report. But I think the guy figured he had enough problems. I didn’t have to make a statement.

So where the purse comes in. As long as I stood there really liking it… I have to wonder if things DID go sideways… would I have been safer right where I was. Near the front door. Though so close to him I think he spit on me at while yelling at one point. Or if I had moved on to the back minutes earlier… would I have been trapped or survived? Weird shit goes through your head like this I guess when something like this happens. It was a very intense and scary situation. And I'm glad it didn’t escalate beyond what did.

One more thing was bizarre. At one point those that were there were talking about what happened. I turned around at one point and the woman that I thought came in with him was stand RIGHT BEHIND ME. Just acting weird. But she looked like an older mom. Very very strange. I quickly just moved down the aisle and away from her. I don’t know if they were together. Probably not. But… who knows. Teams are known to be out there.

Its interesting. I'm calling it an armed robbery and a few people said “oh I thought it was a gun or something like that”. Really? Well, if you don’t consider a knife as deadly as a gun… Take it from me after this experience… and all the stories of people throughout time being stabbed and killed. All over the world including here in the U.S. They are just as dangerous. Don't take that shit lightly. I mean the knife was medium side but looked rusted and brown and black on it. Might have been blood. Who knows. I had a flash of that horrible killer in England that stabbed a ton of little girls during a Taylor Swift inspired dance class earlier this year. He didn’t have a gun. He had a knife. And 4 little girls died that day. And many, MANY hurt. One man. One knife.

At this point I need to re up myself on self defense classes. And get some gear to carry when I'm alone. And for my car. I feel better today after some rest. I was pretty much on a roller coaster of emotions yesterday. But I slept good and pretty much got back to life today. I was afraid I might have a nightmare. But I didn’t.

SO that was yesterday. I have the purse to remind me of yesterday. And as a little gift to myself to know that whether that purse could have broke me or saved me because of the location… I learned the hard way I need to be far more vigilant sighting of my surroundings. And prepare myself as I best I can if anything like this happens again. Also, I shouldn’t have skipped telling my s/o where I was going. I had just told him I was headed home. But I figured Id only be in there about 10 minutes. If longer I would have called. But see? You never know when shit really will hit the fan.

So that happened. And so happy and grateful nothing worse came of it. And now I will take a break before I continue writing the second post of whats been going on elsewhere in my life. Thanks for reading. And be safe out there no matter what!

You are an amazing lady to do all of that. Thankfully you are ok. That's the most important thing. Love you hun. :grouphug:

Wow. Glad all turned out okay.

Living in NYC as I do, my parents always told me that if someone comes up with a knife or gun, or robs a place you are in, to just give them the money and let then go away, and that your life is worth more than any money you have.

Again, glad it turned out okay.

Take care

So glad everyone was unharmed. Hope they get that lunatic off the streets soon! By the way, I love your Youtube channel as well. Some great cartoon videos.
