Not sure if registration is still open but Philly is having a big gathering near you. NEST is always an amazing time with amazing people. Plus it's the biggest gathering we have to offer. It was my first event back in 2008 and I haven't regretted ever attending. Best of luck. If you can't make it to NEST look for munches that may be happening in the area. They usually aren't play gatherings but it's a great way to introduce yourself to folks in the area and meet the awesome people on this forum. Hope you find something that works for you
