identifying someone's webhost?

Does anyone know how to identify what company is hosting a website? I've used WHOIS but that doesn't seem to be identifying the host, just the registrar.
 
Usually a good trace program will give you the info you need by plugging in the URL.....

PM me the site URL and I will try to find out the info for you if you like...

I believe WHOIS is basically on online DNS translator. I'm not sure how to get the identity of the webhost. Sometimes you can get an idea by doing a traceroute. In Windows the command is tracert. For example:

c:>tracert www.ticklingforum.com.

This doesn't always work, but if your lucky, it might give you the domain names of crucial hops.
