Every year my mom goes to the cemetery to place flowers on her family member's graves. There is one grave for a child who died in infancy and since my mom's family is German, the inscription on the child's grave is in German.
I took three years of German in high school (it would have been four but they cut the program before my senior year) and I understand some of the words, but I'm having a terrible time translating it. The gravemarker is decades old and weather has taken its toll on the gravemarker so the words are slightly worn. I copied the inscription word for word as best as I could.
Here's the inscription:
I'm not sure if there is supposed to be any punctuation marks like a comma that's supposed to placed amongst the words. And the word Erblheit, I'm not sure if I spelled it right.
If you are fluent in German and can help translate this, it would be much appreciated. I think it would be nice to know what it says.
Thank you!
