I hear people say that hogties look like a very stressful position to be in. If you have been in a hogtie, would you agree?

From my experiences, I have found lower back pain to be the biggest physical after effect.
 
A hogtie looks very interesting, but very uncomfortable. If I could be hogtied and comfortable, I would totally do it.
 
Bondage isn't supposed to be comfortable, it's supposed to be secure. That isn't to say painful in its own right, unless that's what you're going for. But the discomfort is exciting. It lets you know that you're restrained and helpless. Being hogtied and tickled is indeed uncomfortable, and that's part of what makes it good.

Secure and comfortable are not mutually exclusive.

It might be like that for you, but not for me! I want to enjoy being tickled, not think about being uncomfortable because of the bondage! Discomfort is definitely NOT exciting! And if I want to be tickled for an extended period of time, I need to be comfortable, otherwise I will be in pain quickly.

Hogtied is EXTREMELY uncomfortable in my opinion.
 
Well, that's your issue with the position. Some people may just enjoy a little bit more physical intensity in their play, and a position as stressful as the hogtie is a good way to go.
 
Well, you were the one saying that bondage isn't supposed to be comfortable, but I dare to say most people here would disagree and prefer to be comfortable instead of stressful unless they are more into the BDSM corner of things.
 
Fortunately for me, I am into the BDSM corner of things. But, like you said, that puts me in the obvious minority. I'll remember this in the future should I consider voicing my opinions.
 
I like a good hog-tie. Although I don't know if I love it as much as Crystal.
 
A hog-tie need not be uncomfortable, nor does it necessarily have the aftereffects of back pain.
 
I think different bondage types require different levels of
flexibility, particularly the hogtie. My owner and I are both
bondage enthusiasts, and love rope as one of them. So we
like to try out different things. We've practiced many types
of hogties, and since I'm pretty flexible, I've never had one
that made me uncomfortable. Almost any bondage position
can be adjusted to someone's comfort level.

Here is a modified hogtie with hair bondage. This one was
hard to be tickled in, because of the natural pulling that ends
up happening. I was in it for about 20 minutes before I was
starting to get uncomfortable, but I had no soreness or anything
like that afterward.

Who told you that bondage isn't supposed to be comfortable?? I've been a BDSMmer for going on 12 years and I've never heard such a thing; this is the kind of misinformation that scares newbies away. Bondage can certainly be a bit intense and a good stretch, but it's not 'supposed' to be uncomfortable unless that's specifically what you're going after. Discomfort can be exciting for some folks, but for many it's a signal that the Top doesn't know what he or she is doing; I know I'm restrained and helpless because I can't get up and walk away, not because my joints hurt. 😎

As for hogties, they're one of my favorite ways to tie or be tied because of how vulnerable the 'lee becomes. On a nice soft bed or other padded foundation to protect the knees and other body parts from, um...wait for it....discomfort 😉
 
I've never been hogtied myself but I did do it to my gf a few times.... after awhile she did find it uncomfortable actually. But Goddamn, was it ever sexy! :thumbsup:
 
I'm with ya leafy, I think a hogtie is sexy but I'd be afraid of smashing my boobs lol. I don't even like to sleep on my stomach for that reason alone. I'd like to try it though just to see because obviously I can't judge it without trying it but I'm still thinking that I'll remain true to my favorite bondage positions as they reveal more of my sensitive spots than a hogtie would anyways 🙂 But it's good to switch it up now and then!

That's a good way of putting it, Angel 🙂 Always fun to try new positions and new things, but I too find that coming back to the tried and true never fails to disappoint 😀

I can see why the discomfort of bondage could be exciting, esp. if you're a bit masochistic (as I certainly can be :thumbsup:). But I think for very prolonged tickling though (esp. for "tickling only" sessions), I'd probably aim for something that was comfortable to me so I could just enjoy those tickling sensations. But I can see where you're coming from too 🙂

I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the play that's happening if the bondage is uncomfortable.
 
When my wife and I experimented with the hog-tie in the past, we didn't care for it. We both found that we lost sensitivity in that position. It's not even like the blood was getting cut-off to our limbs, it just didn't really work, for some reason. 😕
