I'm out of action (Ice Storm in Kansas)

I am writing this from my laptop at the college via wifi in the library.

The ice storm hit around early Sunday morning and has knocked out power in 70% of the area where I live. At this time, over 50,000 residences have no electricity, including mine, and there is no telling when it will be back on.

So, there will be no artwork for at least a week or so, depending on how hard my satellite internet dish was hit by falling branches. Trees are completely destroyed left and right.

The electric repair trucks and crews are working as fast as they can, but I don't expect the power to be back on at my place for at least two or three days. We are staying at a relatives house where there is gas heat and hot showers.

I promise that I will never bitch again about anything, including my finances. This is a truly devastating act of nature and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

I promise that I will be back from time to time to keep you posted. Keep praying the electric switch is turned back on!

I know what you are going through Sam. We had it the ice so heavy that it tore down those giant wire carriers you see running through fields. It bent and broke steel girders. Here's hoping you suffer minimal troubles.

even down here, we have our share of terrible weather that knocks out power during the worst part of the season. just be careful, stay warm, and keep plenty of water in reserve. we'll be waitin' for ya.

That Ice storm is heading my way and my job at the airport will be greatly impacted, It'll be interesting to see how everything goes

update...

Still no power at my place. But it should be back on today...I hope.

As far as internet connection...well...the dish may have to be replaced.

At least I graduate tonight!
