... seems to me your sore and just cant take it
Well , no.
As I stated before , I currently don't have an allegiance to any particular NBA team. If the Lakers win the championship ... fine. If another team wins it ... fine. I can't be sore about the Lakers winning the title if I don't care that much who wins the title in the first place.
TKLMAN, dude, you crack me up. Do you really think you sound like the rational one?
Actually , yes , I do.
You are obviously a very emotional person & it's easy to see that you get very worked up over matters dealing w/the Lakers & Kobe. Those feelings are clearly reflected in your posts. Whereas for me , I am mostly
indifferent w/anything having to do w/the Lakers. Hence , I'm not so emotional about it.
Emotion tends to cloud logic & reason , so yeah ... I definitely think I'm coming across as the more rational one of the two of us.
1) Of course people are allowed to dislike the Lakers/Kobe Bryant. Never ever said they couldn't.
Maybe not in so many words ... but every time you swoop in to tell off a poster who happens to not be a Lakers/Kobe fan , that action more than shows that disliking the Lakers/Kobe isn't kosher in the '
House of Brokenrecord'.
I'm just asking here , but is it possible for someone on this forum to say something negative about your beloved Lakers and/or Kobe
without receiving your ire?
2) "Haters". It's a slang term often used for people who dislike a certain team/person/color/expressions, etc. and EXPRESSING their displeasure with that "item". So anyone who dislikes the Lakers/Kobe will be called a "hater". I, for example, am a Boston Celtic "hater". I am a Oakland Raiders "hater". See, does that clear it up for you?
lol Yes , I know that
hater is a slang term & I'm familiar w/many of its uses. I wasn't seeking a definition from you.
I guess the word carries a bit more weight w/me than it does w/you , though. To me , when somebody calls someone else a hater , they're implying that the person is hating for no good reason ... as if to say , the person's opinions on whatever it is they are accused of "hating" are completely worthless ... & that's a pretty crappy way to treat someone else's opinions , if ya ask me. As I stated in my previous post , it's a dismissive term.
To the best of my recollection , I've never said one negative thing about the Lakers
or Kobe Bryant on this forum. I have never before given you crap about your love for them , brokenrecord. In short , I've never given you a reason to deem me "a hater".
So when , in this very thread , you labeled me a hater , I took offense to that. You used that word to dismiss me ( & FlockOfSeagulls ) & basically say that anything I've said or will say about the topic is irrelevent. That led me to respond a bit more strongly in a following post & ... well ... that brings us to here , I suppose.
3) Quite the contrary you misinformed poster. I never "toot" the Lakers horn ad naseum.
Uh , yeahhhh ... you kinda do ....... & I'm fairly certain that there are others who would agree w/that.
Oh wait, that would mean you would get off your lazy ass and do the research. You would rather take a reaction after the fact, then think it is the start of something else. Laziness. Pure laziness.
lol That's the second time you accused me of being lazy for not wanting to "research" your posts. The very idea sounds pretty ridiculous to me.
Dude , there's waaayyy too much other fun & interesting stuff on this forum that I'd rather be doing than going through all your old posts. You're not that high a priority to me. You can call it "lazy" again if you want to , but I simply just don't care enough about your cause to be doing something for you that you can ( & should ) easily be doing yourself.
4) See the end of answer #3. You claim I do all this stuff. Why don't you back up your claims? Put up or shut up.
... & why don't you back up yours?
Dude , I will now suggest this to you for the
third time :
Dig up whatever threads you feel will better illustrate your point(s) & post the links for them so people can check up on 'em
that way.
You are the one claiming that the truth lies within these threads/posts , the responsibilty should be
yours to prove it ... not anyone else's. Otherwise , it just comes across as you trying to get others to do your work
for you , which , I dunno ... sounds kinda
lazy to me.
You are the one telling people to go back & research all these threads , & yet you don't seem to be willing to do that research yourself ( which would be easier for
you to do , anyway , since you participated in them ). If you're not willing to do it , then stop telling others to do it.
You're exactly right ... put up or shut up.
5) Of COURSE I enjoy these online confrontations. DUH. Why else would I do them? To get stressed? Goodness. You sure are a smart one aren't you?
I asked that question already knowing the answer , Einstein ... I just wanted you to come out & officially make it public.
*** This has pretty much been my point the entire time , brokenrecord ... since these confrontations are something you enjoy so much , wouldn't that make
you the one who's responsible for 'stirring up trouble' , moreso than your perceived "haters" ... or those "voice of reason" types?
🙄 ***
"DUH" , indeed.
At the risk of becoming a broken record myself , I'll again highlight for you what I've
already clearly stated ( & which you continue to avoid addressing ) to hopefully bring my point home a little bit :
What all the "over-the-top" fans of any team need to realize is that once they quit making so much damn noise about their squads , they will probably notice a decrease in negativity thrown back at them.
The louder & more obnoxiously you root for your team , the louder & more obnoxious the criticism/"hate" is gonna come from the other way.
... it doesn't matter who started what , you are the one perpetuating it by constantly posting about Lakers-this & Kobe-that. If that's the way you want to go about your business ... fine ... but as I stated in my previous post , you get what you give. If you're going to post about Lakers/Kobe ad nauseam , you can't whine when people get sick of that crap & tell you to cool it.
But as I write this , I realize full well it's not going to make one lick of difference. You obviously take pride in this "me against the world" mentality & you crave the "confrontation" it brings.
This.
This simple quote of yours may seem innocent enough , but what it says about you is what I've thought all along ... you crave this kind of confrontation , don't you?
Admit it ... every time you read a post saying something negative about the Lakers/Kobe , your adrenaline starts pumping & you can't wait to dig into the poster who had the "audacity" to simply have a different opinion than you.
... & that's what I mean. You perpetuate this nonsense by your need to satiate those cravings ... & then you cry "victim" when people respond to your lunacy. Maybe you didn't create this monster , but you're definitely the one most responsible for keeping it alive.
In short , brokenrecord ... quit fucking complaining. Regardless of how it all started , you have mostly yourself to blame for its continued existence.
If you truly wanted the negativity towards the Lakers/Kobe to decrease , then you'd tone down your antics. But by saying you enjoy these online confrontations , you're basically admitting to
not wanting that negativity towards the Lakers/Kobe to decrease , so obviously , your preaching will continue ... to keep the confrontations alive. It pretty much makes you a hypocrite , though.
But you know what ...? As annoying as it is , it's not the in-your-face attitude & the like that bothers me so much ... it's the fact that you fail to see your part in the whole mess while you continue to blame others under the guise of "But I was just defending myself". Please ... you're not fooling anybody.
"Great. Now , one of the more annoying members of the TMF will be even more annoying for at least another year. Great."
Recognize this quote? Annoying member huh? I think I fall far down the scale of annoying posters on this forum. Did we ever cross paths? Why would you call me an annoying poster?
Of course I remember that quote. While I did make it only partly in jest , I still stand by it. In the same quote , though , I also stated :
Still ... congrats to you , primetime , on your team winning the NBA championship. Enjoy the moment.
Funny how you don't even recognize the last part. I suspect that it has something to do w/your tendency to perceive that most everyone is against you ... or maybe it's just that the negative aspects of things stand out to you more than the positive stuff ... I dunno , whatever ...
I intended for the first part of that post to come across somewhat jokey. W/most humor , though , there's always a ring of truth to it. In this case , my opinion of the truth.
Not that you care ... nor should you ... but yeah , you've almost always come across as fairly annoying to me. No , our paths have never crossed per se , but when one does happen upon one of your posts , you've got to realize , man , that the arrogance & pompousness hits the reader in the face like a fuckin' sledgehammer ... at least in my case , anyways.
Is that who you
really are? I dunno ... maybe , maybe not. I'm willing to concede that it's possible I'm totally wrong about you.
If you go back & do the research ( sorry ... couldn't resist ) , you'll find that I don't have a history of making enemies here on the TMF. It's just not my style.
Look ... I still stand by everything I've stated , but I hope you believe me when I say I'd rather not be enemies ... w/you or anyone. I understand that after reading over what I've said in this post , you're probably gonna want to respond in your "usual" manner. That's fine ... I can take it.
But maybe when that's all over , we'll look back at this thread at some point & laugh it off. Am I saying we'll ever be friends ...? Ehh , kinda too early to be goin' that far , I suspect ... but maybe we can reach an understanding & come to a point where when we come across one another's post in our TMF travels , we'll amusingly say to ourselves , "Oh yeah ...
that guy".
If & when you're ever ready to ,
primetime , I'll be here ready & willing to , uh ... not be your enemy.
For what it's worth , I again offer congratulations to you on the Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA championship.
