When you upload images there you can have it resize them. Check the "resize image?" box and choose a size.
You can also put a thumbnail link in instead of the full image. Look down on the page after you've uploaded the image. There should be a "Thumbnail for forums (1)" box with text in it. Copy that text; it's a linked thumbnail.
