As this is a day to remember those who served and those who are no longer with us. I would like to share the one person I remember most on this day.............. my grandfather who served in WW1! My grandfather was a man of strong morals and good character, he never judged, he never swore, and he never showed the pain he had experienced through his life!!!! I remember him as a warm affectionate person!!! Whenever I would come to vist the first thing he'd do when he saw me was open his arms wide for a big hug!!! My grandfather loved children very much, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for a child!!! He passed away when I was only six years old...................but the impression he has left on me will last forever............

Very sweet tribute. This country certainly has produced many unsong heros. And today is for them.

I would like to mention my Uncle Albert who server in the Korean War, he had 3 degree frost bit on his feet and they wanted to remove his feet. He pass July 25, 2004 I still miss him so.

i'll have to ask my uncle, or visit the cemetery next time i'm up there. it says on his plaque what and where he served. also my great uncle was in world war one . and you know what? i found a book published right after the first world war, that my father owned, that has pictures ... a very huge and old book. published in 1920

Can you e-mail some of those pics???? My grandfather's job was one that doesn't exsist anymore he was a 'mesager boy' on the FRONT LINES! That meant he had to climb out of the trenches and go to the next one to relay mesages back and forth because the didn't have telephones or walkie talkies on the front!! A VERY ballsey job!!!!!
