Indian getting divorced due to tickling fetish

28 / M here in India who had an arranged marriage (kinda the norm in India though it is a hugely frighterning concept to westerners) 2 months ago, contemplating divorce because my wife HATES to tickle or be tickled.

I tried all that I could, to save my marriage. We went to a marriage counsellor and then a psychiatrist and then a sexologist and finally a hypno-therapist.

The marriage counsellor thought that a tickling fetish wasn't a bad thing. The psychiatrist didnt either. Then the sexologist said that if it was coming in the way of me having a "normal" sex life, I should try viagra. That didn't really work because it helps RETAIN an erection, not CREATE one. I am only turned on when some sort of tickling is added to the foreplay.

The hypnotherapist said that I could be hypnotised into getting aroused by something more "normal" but firmly refused to put me under hypnosis, because he was of the opinion that one should NOT change what one likes about oneself.

I dont know what I regret more, having a tickling fetish or having married without having had a frank and free conversation with my wife before marriage. Just wanted to put this out here so that other fetishists here who come from cultures similar to mine, do not end up marrying a stranger who hates tickling. This is a great place. You didn't mention in your post if you have children; if not then I suggest getting divorced as soon as possible. If you do have kids then I suggest trying to stay with her for their sakes....but only if your wife is willng to make an accommodation for your personal preferences such as your turn on from tickling.

If only I got a gold watch or an inheritance. No, in five years my youngest son will be 18 and will go off to college. That's when I get divorced. No custody battles or other such horseshit. I've tried not to make my problem my children's problem. It's not their fault that I married the wrong woman so I've refused to make them suffer for my mistake. I feel that I will have done the best for my kids and will be able to hold my head high.

If tickling is that important to you and she's not willing to work with you, then you're left with little choice than to divorce. I'm not sure what effect it will have on your families, but it's either divorce or sneaking aroung trying to fulfill your fetish.

I hope no children are involved-they deserve two loving parents to raise them. But I made my family work better being away from my husband than ever when I was with him.

Sometimes you simply marry the wrong person-no sense is made by staying in an unhappy marriage. I hope things work out for you soon.

I can understand your anger and disgust, but it is misplaced. She only sought to give me information, not necessarily agreeing with it. There are some places in this world where women will throw their girl babies over a cliff so they don't have to live in their lives. It's horrible but true-that's why I got more than a little concerned about someone jokingly talk about burning a wife because she didn't agree with tickling. That's just plain and utter garbage IMO-if she doesn't like it, she should be witnin her rights. These things should've been discussed BEFORE marriage, arranged or not!

People have to be sexually satisfied in their marriages-to some that means acceptance of a fetish. If the other spouse is against it, it's going to create huge problems in the relationship.

No one was angry in the first place. All she did was give me information about an issue in India. I hope tickle_jockey finds his way, but it wasn't his post I initially responded to. You don't even mention burning someone because they don't enjoy ticking. You find a spouse who likes/loves it or you leave. The burning stuff was just by someone who IMO has serious issues.

I understand the concept of arranged marriage...It still happens in the Philippines quite a bit, and if not arranged, at least approved by both sets of parents or suffer disownment...But I'm not up on the consequences of divorce, social, economic and familial, in India. Thanks for the responses! Yes, bride-burning and infanticide does happen here but only in the remotest villages. Both are crimes punishable by death.

Coming back to my problem, I think divorce would be the way to go... :-(

There are no children involved, heck there's no sex involved... our month-old marriage has not even been consumated yet... so it might be an annulment not a divorce.

P.S. I totally agree with what TKREXX said about having talked about these things before marriage, but that is not possible in an arranged marriage back here. There are SOME communities that let the girl meet the guy a coupla times before the wedding and others which consider that as a bad omen. Anyways, no more of this stupid circus for me anymore. I've learnt to say it's either my way or the highway, but i just feel incredibly sad that it took THIS for me to learn my lesson.
