Inglourious Basterds

Sasaxrah and I saw this Sunday night. I really liked the movie. The trailer can be very misleading if someone was going for non stop action. It's 2.5 hours long with a LOT of dialogue, most of it foreign (German, French, Italian). The action when it is there is really violent as is QT's other movies. Christoph Waltz's performance as Hans Landa was absolutely top notch. It's not for everyone, but I really liked it.

I agree the preview is very misleading, and we all know QT can be a wordy son of a bitch, but he doesn't make bad movies. Definitely worth seeing. Hugo Stiglitz, what an awesome intro.

The dialogue was beautiful and the movie had a real indie feel with the lack of star power(other than pitt)

The guy who played Landa deserves an Oscar for his performance. My fave scene was the whole chapter in the bar.

As for the trailer, def. I overheard several meatheads in the theatre complaining it wasn't violent enough and they had to read subtitles

But the finest film from Tarantino yet, and somewhat made me forgive for his plagiarism on other movies

thanks

hey, i hope you guys all stopped by my article too. I agree that Christoph Waltz had probably the best performance in the film, truly amazing! Brad Pitt was also about as good as I've ever seen him. (Well, Benjamin Button was a meater performance, but you can only do what you need to do, right?) Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by and check out my other articles if you like what you see.

And, for those interested is such things, I should add that there is a prolonged shot of Diane Kruger's bare sole. :feets: We foot ethusiasts can always count on Quentin. 😀

To the OP - Your review is very well written, sir :goodjob:

As for the movie, I saw it yesterday with a good friend of mine and both she and I were a bit...traumatized 😛 I was on an experiment to "man up" (even though I'm a woman) when it comes to frightening movies. But to me it was just...tasteless.

Such gratuitous violence 🙁 I wonder what kind of a man would make a movie like that. It bothered me.

I wouldn't sweat it hun, you picked a director who is quite gratuitous with his violence. Tough one to just begin your manning up on. :jester: It's not everyone's cup of tea.

My thoughts exactly. I felt it had a real indie/foreign flick feel. I agree also on the Landa performance deserving the Oscar nod.

Ohhhhh good movie... saw it yesterday. I've been a fan of Tarantino's work but never his gore. This was a good mix. Seriously only had to turn away a couple times (much to the laughter of my movie going partner)!

Yush, it was funny at times, gory at times, horrific at times, and sometimes all three simultaneously. I am a fan.

Wasn't crazy about the context the shot was in, but I appreciated it. The shot, I mean. Not the context.
