hi
i have been reading through some posts and noticed that people don't really like the word "fetish".

i was wondering, what term do you use?
interest?
fetish?
hobby?
any others?

I prefer the term "interest" because it's broader. While I do have a tickling fetish in some circumstances, the socializing and play with other friends that I enjoy is not part of that "fetish."

In the past, when I've messaged girls on forum, I've referred to my enjoyment of tickling as an "interest". From what I've read, the exact definition of the word "fetish" really means:" Object or interest that must be present, or activity that must be engaged in, to achieve arousal, and orgasm". While I do love to tickle women, I dont neccessarially have to be tickling a woman, at the time that I achieve arousal, or orgasm. For this reason, I feel more comfortable to refer to my enjoyment of tickling, and female feet, as an interest, because, similarly, I do not neccessarially have to see a female foot, or be touching a female foot, to acheive arousal, or orgasm.

I usually say "its a kink". I dunno why, but people react badly to the word fetish. I guess the first thing that comes to mind is hardcore S&M stuff, which for some people (me included) is the complete opposite of a turn on (I dislike pain. 😛). However, people look at being "kinky" in a completely different light (thank you rappers), which allows you to really open up about it simply by changing your wording around a little bit. ^_^

I prefer the term "interest". 😀

As Mitch said, "fetish" is often used for an object or activity that must be present to achieve orgasm, and that is not the case for me.

I just use "fetish" just to mean that x turns one on (not to mean that they need x in order to orgasm, just because that definition obviously isn't universal).

I don't think of the word "fetish" as anything short of positive or fascinating, unlike those who associate it with a negative stereotype.

I prefer interest, or perhaps even obsession. The terms "fetish" and "kink" carry an astigma I'd just as soon avoid.

it's mostly a fetish for me.....i didn't really pick up on other sexual "norms" at a young age and when i first saw/heard about them they didn't really interest me. as for liking/disliking the word fetish, it is what it is. I've tried living a sex life avoiding the tickling aspect of it, never for long duration, so I have no problem considering it a fetish seeing as it is something that makes the experience complete for me.

i would say hobby!!!! preferrably i like to use interest... unless it's some kinky ass tickling scenario.. then I'd say fetish...

If I'm using it in a sentence, I'll generally say "interest " or "quirk". If I'm reading it on the internet, it doesn't matter to me how it's worded. To each their own.

I think the term "interest" defines it for me. I don't consider what I have a fetish.

I'm more apt to "interest."

It's how I describe my like of tickling to significant others so I'm just used to saying it.

"Fetish" has a bit of a negative connotation with the vanillas.

Kink.

I like the idea of describing it as a hobby though.

So said:
Along with building Airfix models and playing with Pokémon Cards, I like to tickle the crap out of people, and vice versa.

Interest.

I see Milagros has already posted, but he will very quickly tell you that "fetish" is an overused word. Sagely words.

pfff... I say it as it is. And for me, it's a fetish 😉

Kink sounds less threatening to some people. :happyfloa
Not that I engage in a lot of conversation about it. lol 😛

Nah, I don't know who would need to know my kinks other than my significant others.

If I meet a lady with whom I'm interested in some tickle play (but nothing more), I would not refer to it as a fetish. That carries sexual undertone, which crosses a boundary, given that I'm in a committed relationship.

That sounds about right to me.

I'd probably call it a 'kinky-fetish type thing'. Perhaps a cut above 'interest'.

Obsession

Yeah, it can be interest, a kink, something I am into, but in reality, for me, it is part of who I am.

Every day I look for reasons and chances to tickle. Obviously, I don't succeed every day. And some times I get denied in an ugly way, which sets me back to a point of frustration.

But the days I succeed, are the perfect days.

Pictures and videos are fun, but I need to have the live action experience. Otherwise, there is something missing.

It behaves like a craving. Some times I don't care that much and am happy doing other stuff. But some times, I actively look for the satisfaction of tickling some nice feet.

Bye,

I've always used the term fetish, even though that's technically not right.

Interest doesn't seem to fit for me, because I'm also interested in food. And I don't eat food and then get off.

And you call yourself a sexual deviant... pff.

For me it's got to be "perversion" 😀
