Does anyone else agree that Foot fetishism is becoming more accetpable/common in modern day society.

I say this for a couple of reasons first of all the subject appears to be increasingley brought up on many chat shows/programmes like sexectra, secondly heard of an incident the other day where my wife works and this guy who works there has a foot fetish, and a couple of them were talking about it in general, had this been 10-15 years ago it would of been more like "yuk he likes feet".

Be very interested to hear other views on this, especially from fellow foot fetishists.

I'd say that it is I alot of women that I know have heard of a foot-fetish and I think that it's in the top 10 most common, but very few if and have heard of a tickling fetish.... although I haft to add that a surprisingly large number of women on myspace have found the idea interesting so when people hear about it most react in a very positive way! (tickling that is)

Yes, I think so.

In general, I think people are becoming more aware of tastes outside the norm. I regard this as a good thing.

I maintain that the only real problem foot fetishists have is themselves and this weird victim/ martyr mentality that seems to develop in all of us at some point. Some people outgrow it. Most don't, and it's the furtive, scurrying-under-the-floorboards way in which these folk interact that causes problems. That and the frustrated oddballs who do silly things like crawling round under tables and licking women's feet in public without permission. Accept your fetish, make your peace with it and go about your life. PLEASE NOTE: accepting and making peace with something does not necessarily entail a desire/ ability to go round shouting about it in an obnoxious way. That's not accepting something, that's trying to beat down your own insecurities by overcompensating and it's just as bad as being a nervous turd who giggles and snorts and comes here to make posts about how foot fetishists are all underappreciated and oppressed by the evil mainstream.

I believe it is so. 15 or 20 years ago it would have been inconceivable for a movie director to appear on a TV talk show where he declares his "interest in women's feet," has the hostess of the show put her bare feet into his lap for him to admire, and then judges three women guests on the beauty of their feet. That is exactly what happened when Quentin Tarantino appeared on the Tyra Banks sbow recently.

I agree that it is a good thing. 😀

Yes, & we can thank Quentin Tarantino for bringing his foot fetish to the mainstream audience. That is why it is becoming (Not IS yet) more acceptable to admit a love for feet.
Tommy Lee has also admitted it.
There must be more celebrities out there that have the same love for feet, but are still afraid to 'come out', for fear of damaging their careers.
In my own personal opinion, I don't think that it will have the same 'acceptance' as other 'NORMAL' fetishes, like breasts & butts, but hopefully feet will, at least, be regarded as 'OK' instead of being catagorized as 'Out of the ordinary' or 'Out of the norm'.

Yes, indeed! Have you seen the commercials lately?

For Requip-My absolute favorite!

You would expect to see bare feet in an ad for body lotion and such, but energy water?

Raisin bran??

Cat litter???

Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but bare feet, especially those of the ladies, seem to be much more prevailent!

The Captain and I are taking over!

Soo Wing out!

I think it is an 'eye of the beholder' thing. I dont look for acceptance, so therefore I dont see where it is anymore or less accepted. When I was doing nothing but foot stuff 8-10 years ago on the web, there was just as much foot content to post then as there is now...so I dont think there is any additional exposure. A few years back foot jewelry was a fad...but I dont think it had anything to do with mainstream foot exposure.

I dont credit Quentin Tanetino for anything...or Eddie Murphy, Jay Leno, Tommy Lee, or anyone else that sometimes gets labelled as a 'foot fetish' trend setter. If they were that influential, than more people would have also became comedians, talk show hosts, and musicians. The fact that they 'come out' (I hate that term) hasnt made me any more proud or accepting, and hasnt increased the foot content for other directors. Quentin has his own style so we know we will get to see some feet in his movies. But there arent any directors saying "Christ, this movie needs more feet."

And another important thing: just like not everybody 'notices' someone being tickled or being ticklish, not everyone notices bare feet in movies and commercials. Its practically invisible to them.

No, we're not there yet. Women will blow money on pedicures, nail styles, and fancy sandals, but I think they do it more to impress each other than to draw attention from men.

Diaster or new era?

What do you think would happen if the press discovered that a famous (A list) celebrity used this forum?

Nothing...a few jokes on late night tv at best...maybe a Soup reference.

I think its an age thing too. You tell a 21 year old girl about a lot of guys having a foot fetish she thinks your making it up and that you are WEIRD...you tell a 40 year old woman about it and she may be aware of it already or kinda think its nice/interesting.

well said. at the same time i think fetishes in general are gaining more attention, if not appreciation. but fetishes are part of sex, and it has to be part of the process. if it isnt, it could be weird. but ive found that most women are understanding/curious/at the very least not offended. at the end of the day, a foot fetish is one of the more benign fetishes to have anyway....not as if that makes it easier to be different...

I think so. The Foot Fetsh segments on shows like Talk Sex With Dr. Sue, HBO's Real Sex, etc. do a pretty good, playful and fun way with the seminars available to people who are "into it." I can see a lot of guys feeling more comfortable, that they're not alone as a result of this type of um, exposure :evilha: ...Fetish wear, stilettos, silky thigh highs, once items only a hooker would be caught dead wearing in public are now on display at shops in the malls, respectable adult toy stores. And my friends DEFINITELY spend a lot more time caring for and adorning their feet than my mom's generation ever did.
XOXO

Seeing as how I am actually Joe Calzaghe in real life, I hope we never have to find out.

Oh wait...

.... shit 🙁

I think the foot fetish thing has always been around, its simply more out in the open now. Will it ever have the acceptance of a womans breast I really dont think so. But its more than pedicures or hi heeled sandals for fashion statements. go to any rock festival and you will notice lots of barefoot young ladies running around women are simply conditioned to be barefoot more often than men are. And they do tend to wear sandals more. I find this alot more often with white females here in the states as they at least here in NYC tend to wear summer clothes and sandals alot quicker than women of color. But this is just my own personal observation here in NYC.

As most forum members know, I have both the tickle and foot fetishes. Here is my take on the situation.
I have always felt that it was far easier to discuss an interest of feet, with a person who was, quote, a "vanilla", and not one of us, as opposed to tickling.
Think, for a second, of the two. It would seem much easier to benignly say to a vanilla, and one not into the fetish:" Honey, when we're making love, I would really enjoy if I can kiss, massage, or pay attention to your feet". Unless one's partner was that ticklish, where they couldn't stand their feet to be touched, or so closed minded that they wouldn't want to accomadate their partner, I don't think most would have a problem with this.
Tickling, is another story. From my interaction with female pen pals, from 1996 ,until 2002, when I joined TMF, most of them admitted they were ticklish, but said they hate to be tickled. It would seem to me far more difficult to say to a "vanilla", or someone not acquainted with tickling, that you wanted to tie them up and tickle them. Many who didnt understand it, would probably be like "What the hell".
Another thing: I think, to a degree, many girls understand that guys have foot fetishes. They put their feet on display all summer in sandals or flip flops, and get pedicures. Many times, girls can be foot teases, and want to get guys to notice their feet.
I personally think that foot fetishism is becoming more common, and accepted, and, probably, doesn't have the same "taboo", as do other types of fetishes.

Mitch

I actually think girls find the feet thing to be weirder than the tickling thing...cause they just don't get feet...most girls HATE feet so they just think thats totally weird. Tickling...they think is weird cause they never heard of it...but when you try to explain it to them...and show them a few pics and talk to them about it...they don't go "yuck" and stuff like they do with feet...they might say "thats kinda weird" but they don't freak out about it as much as foot fetish...some girls I know would break up with a guy if he told her he had a foot fetish.
