I used to have an issue with it... but then something interesting happened. I realized that out of everyone I'd told no one had ever reacted negatively.

That went a long way towards making me realize that yes, we do make too much of a big deal out of it.

There's going to be a bit of apprehension at first, simply because you don't know how the other person is going to react... but it will get easier over time once you realize that the reaction is rarely going to be negative.

It's not JUST them, or us.

It's both.

Because 'acceptance' varies from person to person.

And most people are naturally insecure and/or defensive.

And I'm of the philosophy that if I'm TRULY secure in my 'fetishism' that I DON'T need to tell the world.

If I need the acceptance of others, I'm clearly not secure in who/what I am.

People pick up things pretty well. If you are freaked out about your tickling fetish and you tell somebody about it, chances are good they are going to pick up on your broadcasts and be freaked out about it as well. If you look at it as something that's not a big deal, the people you tell about it will usually do the same.
