is it weird to ask a friend if they want to tickle you?

Hello, I am a man (36) living in the Netherlands.

and because I have been single for a long time, I sometimes think about asking a good friend of mine if she would like to tickle me.
sometimes when we are together we tease each other by poking each other's sides. but I have no idea what she would think if I asked her to really tickle me some time.
Has anyone here on the forum ever asked that to a friend? or how do you think someone will react?

maybe it might also depend on the person you ask. I also know plenty of friends who I know in advance will think I'm crazy.

I have a few thoughts. Don't ask if it would really bother you if she rejects you. She might just say no, or she might think it's really weird and now your relationship with her has changed (worse/awkward).

Also, if she says yes and does it, and it's sexual to you, but she doesn't know that; I think that would be unfair to her. I think she should know what tickling means to you before she does it.

but I can't really estimate how friends would react if you told them what we think and feel about tickling.
and I think there is also a difference whether I ask her to tickle me. or when I would ask if I could tickle her silly sometime.

There are many instances in life where we must bravely go outside of our comfort zone to achieve what we want and need. Just be yourself, be calm, cool, collected and polite.

But above all, it seems as if you have put a lot of thought and consideration into this already, so let yourself venture out and pursue what makes you happy. In other words, go ahead and ask.

It's weird if you don't have the kind of relationship with your friend that wouldn't make it weird. If you don't know if you have that kind of relationship, then you don't.

You're literally asking someone you don't have a sexual relationship with to indirectly sexually satisfy you, and since you acknowledge that she's "outside the community", on some level you know that you're relying on the old saw of it not appearing to be sexual to lean things in your favor.

So no, I personally wouldn't ask unless I already knew the answer would be yes, and since you're here asking us about it, the answer isn't yes. Find someone else whom you vibe with better and try again.
