issue with a custom vid....this ever happen to you?

So I recently purchased custom work with a producer/ticklee on here whom I won't mention her or her site. It cost me 100 dollars for the video request to be completed. Not only did the woman take far longer to make the video than she assured me upon making the business transaction, but I look on her site today and she has already released the video on her site in 3 segments that total up to probably 20 dollars total. So I paid her a hundred bucks to make me a custom clip that she released immediately on her site in 3 segments that total up 80 dollars less than what I paid her for the video to be made for me (and is now been made immediately available to everyone else for 1/5 the price). How is this legit? I mean, it would be one thing if she released it to everyone a while after making it for me, hence me havin to pay so much for it to get to enjoy it right now exclusively, but it wasn't made exclusively. She made it and released it to everyone else for way less than what I had to pay for it.

Has this ever happened to anyone else on here?

It sucks, usually they wait to give you the product first, but this can happen with customs. The producer reserves to right to distribute your custom to the public. Lucky for you, it was only a $100.00. I've had custom videos made before for like $250-$400.

Nope. She totally "phoned it in" so to speak. It was made completely half-heartedly and basically rushed because she took so much longer to get it done and kept making up excuses like her tickler is busy. I wish I knew this before. I thought that customs were reserved exclusively for the buyer of the custom and they weren't released to the public for at least like 6 months after I got the vid. That would make sense seeing as how I paid all that money for it to be made for me personally. When I see it released immediately to everyone else in smaller segments that are like 5 bucks a piece and total up to only like 20 dollars (when I paid 100 to have it released to me just a few days sooner), I feel totally ripped off.

Thanks for your support. I haven't contacted her since the incident. I don't like to make much of a stink out of things, so I came on here to ask if this has happened to anyone else to see if I was just overreacting or something. I mean, I understand customs require higher prices because they are personalized, but when the producer releases it immediately to the public it isn't even personalized so much as they fulfilled a request and made it available to everyone.....only I paid 5 times the price for it.

Sorry you feel disappointed; I've had some experience of making (i.e.appearing in) custom videos, so I'll throw in a few observations.

I think she offered this to you at a bargain price, so that she could subsidise what she charged you and recoup her costs by putting it on general release immediately.

Even the shortest, simplest videos are pretty time-consuming to make. $100 is very little when you consider it has to cover two models, a cameraman, the time spent arranging the shoot (and models can be very unreliable), the time spent filming and the time needed to edit the video. At very least you'e talking about an aggregate total of 12 man-hours. Additionally there's the cost of the equipment -camera and lights- to factor in. Even if you have these on hand, the cost of buying them in the first place has to be covered eventually before the producer can show a profit.

Also, your original fantasy will never translate properly to video. In your own mind you know exactly what the models should look like, what their reactions should be, what they should be wearing, etc. However, even Michelangelo could not reconcile his original vision of his sculptures with the way they turned out.

The 'real thing' never equals the perfection the mind envisages.

Lastly, if you're a single guy, $100 can be invested better. $20 will get you a superb course in how to meet women from www.doubleyourdating.com and you can spend the rest on having coffee and cake with your new female friends while you're negotiating them into bed.

This will take some work and you will invariably make some mistakes and suffer some rejection as you try to put your lessons into practice, but it will definitely work sometimes, and no-one ever got laid or anything else by sitting at home alone watching videos.

I think its reasonable for you to feel that way since it was released immediately, however, I can't imagine it cost a mere 100 to produce the video. If it were a video of her alone, and its her site, than sure, the 100 would be going all to her and she should at least wait several days to release IF that's what you two agreed to. On the other hand, if it were a custom involving paid models, I know that a custom would cost me 400-600 in models alone.

The only thing I believe you should be upset about is if you are not satisfied with the final product. If the video took longer for you to get than you were promised, then perhaps next time specify a time frame and an agreememnt that you will be refunded if the video is not received by a specific date. Although I know from experience that if I am relying on models to make a custom, there is no guarantee that they will come when scheduled and impossible to promise a specific date.

It was the producer who modeled in the clip so all the money went directly to her. It was also not that creative of a video. Just some dressing up in business looking attire and some hogtie tickling from a single camera angle. The camera guy was also her husband/tickler, so it's not like she needed to pay him for his services. The video was also done in her home so no hotel costs involved.

Basically, you bought a budget priced custom, and that's what you got. $50 for the model/producer and $50 for her partner/cameraman is peanuts nowadays. That won't even pay a monthly cellphone bill.

I've been a model in quite a few custom videos, so I do know whereof I speak.

A good custom video should cost the customer anywhere from $200 (producer and/or partner in the video only, one scene only, no elaborate outfits or script) to several thousand dollars (multiple models, elaborate script, tough bondage, specific outfits).

Bear in mind that even if there are no location, outfit, or model costs, someone still has to spend time setting up the scene and editing the finished product. And if there are multiple models involved, or if you request specific models, who might not be local to the producer, the production costs are just going to go up more.

Generally a producer will make a custom video at cost, and hope to make a profit by reselling the video, or clips of it, to other customers.

It is generally considered a bit cheeky to repost the video very soon after delivery to the customer, but it isn't unheard of. A customer asks for a custom video when he's unable to find what he wants on standard sites, and the producer does realize that if one person wants something rather unusual- someone else will probably want it too. No one is completely unique.

And to the person who said for $250-$400 (near the bottom end of the cost scale) they'd want to be in it, or present at filming- I wouldn't recommend that. Seeing the process of how that super-sexy film is made, or being in said film, is a total passion killer. Trust me on this one. Let the fantasy stay a fantasy.

The most ludicrous plot I can think of is a custom I did with Libertine as my costar- it was a Home Invasion where I, the Corporate Secretary, was alone in my bedroom, when the Evil Rapist leapt through the window, and predictably, tied me up and "raped" (dry-humped) me, while I screamed.

We both had great difficulty keeping a straight face, and although Lib pretending to fall asleep at the end and snoring loudly was NOT in the script, the producer decided to leave it in the final edit.

We both had great difficulty keeping a straight face, and although Lib pretending to fall asleep at the end and snoring loudly was NOT in the script, the producer decided to leave it in the final edit.

It has nothing to do with the cost of 100 bucks that pisses me off. It's that the producer immediately released the clip that I paid to be made at least exclusively for me for a reasonable period of time. When I pay more money for a clip that is simultaneously released in 6 dollar segments that total under 20 dollars for the rest of the world, it kind of aggravates me. If she waited a few months first that would've been reasonable.

Is anyone else reading all this and wondering what the hell clips and company he's talking about, .....admit it!

I looked...couldn't figure it out...no company released multiple clips like he described today or yesterday.....the plot thickens. Better detectives, go find them!

I'm going have to agree with all the naysayers......honestly, most producers are amateurs. Even the best of the best, couldn't compare to say, an independent film/video or low budget or high budget Hollywood movie. Someone like Tommy at Tickle Abuse or Turtleboy at UK Tickling will have damn good lighting and video quality.....but I have yet to see them pull out the camera crane! 🙂

I mean, no matter if you pay $100 or $2,000.......you'll never be satisfied because your fantasy could never approach the reality of what SOMEONE else'll make for you.....unless you REALLY, REALLY luck out, AND pick the perfect ticklee...who just so happens to be extra ticklish THAT shoot.
I remember Elizabeth from Tickle Haven did a video where she's hogtied on the bed tickled in pantyhose...best video Tickle Haven's ever done.
She was tickled before and after...but was not as ticklish as that one shoot.....
So you always stand the chance of getting a mediocre shoot, no matter how much you pay.

And honestly...after a certain amount of money, you could just hire the girl yourself and make your OWN video!

Yeah, I paid up to $400.00 for a custom video as that seems to be the standard rate. The models have to get paid and then there are the fees for the producer. It depends on where you go and what you want. Yes, your fantasy custom may not come out exactly how you like. It depends on what you are looking for. If you like just a simple tickling clip with your favorite ticklee, then chances are it will come out like you want.

I hope you get some satisfaction though. Did you let the producer know?
