The outlook wasn't brilliant for the noble Dodgers as they entered the bottom of the 9th inning today in Dodger Stadium, playing for a victory that would clinch the NL West:

H Choi hit for Y Brazoban. H Choi walked, S Green scored, R Ventura to third, J Hernandez to second.

J Christiansen relieved D Hermanson. A Perez ran for H Choi.

C Izturis safe at first on error by shortstop C Ransom,😛 R Ventura scored, J Hernandez to third, A Perez to second.

M Herges relieved J Christiansen.

J Werth singled to right, J Hernandez scored, A Perez to third, C Izturis to second.

W Franklin relieved M Herges.

S Finley homered to right, A Perez, C Izturis, J Werth and S Finley scored.

I sincerely hope that the Dodgers and Red Sox meet in the World Series. We are 0-1 versus the Red Sox, having lost in 1916, when Babe Ruth pitched a complete game 14-inning victory for the Sox. We need to get even.

Jugner, Braves fan here since 83 through last and first. What our team has done this year is amazing. We now face Houston in the first round as you know. I want to take this one game at a time, and not look ahead, but I sincerely hope you're right, and that we have the ultimate celebration come late October. It would be sweetest if it came against the Yankees, to pay them back for our two World Series setbacks. Right now, I dont want to think ahead. I'm thinking Game 1 Wed against Houston, and gonna take it one game at a time from there. Go Braves! Bring it on!
