I wasn't confused. The girls were behaving the same way they did with Elvis five or ten years earlier and with Frank Sinatra a generation earlier.

I remember watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, and hearing the crowd of teenaged girls screaming every time Ed mentioned the Beatles by name just before they went on!

I remember hearing about them on The Huntley Brinkley Report and told a buddy of mine that they were going to be a hit here in the USA. My buddy didn't believe it, but I still enjoy listening to their music.
