here are two different web pages both saying that actual itching powder was used in the itching scene of carry on girls

Obviously, the props people must have used the real thing, because poor Barbara Windsor and I had to go to the nurse with a terrible rash. Who would have thought that they'd using real itching powder!

That's interesting, I would not have thought that they would use the real stuff. Scenes like that I just assume that the actors / actresses would fake it. Especially since it requires one to experience the actual discomfort of something being in contact with their body.
