I confess I never followed his solo career. However George was Frank Zappa's keyboardist during a good chunk of the 1970s. I saw them live several times during this era. His work was always superb, as Frank seemed to have a way to bring out the best in his musicians. My favorite pieces that showcase George's improvisational genius would be

<li>Inca Roads from the album One Size Fits All</li>
<li>Fifty Fifty from Overnite Sensation</li>
<li>Don't You Ever Wash That Thing from Roxy and Elsewhere</li>
</ul>He was an amazing musician, the like of which is rarely seen.
