Okay, so Jeter gets hit by a pitch, and walks around nursing his hand for a while as he waves the trainers out. Only the Rays manager and their whole dugout heard it hit the bat, and think the ball hit the bat. The umpires conversed, and awarded Jeter first base. In the locker room afterward, Jeter admits that the ball hit the bat and not his hand.

ESPN has been calling for instant replay in baseball all over the place; this is nothing new. What would have happened on that play if there WAS instant replay? What SHOULD have happened is after the umpire looks at the instant replay is him calling Jeter out for faking injury and saying "This isn't fucking soccer."
But let's take out the acting element. How would instant replay rule in that situation if the ball landed fair, but the ump already called time because he thought the ball hit Jeter? (It hit his thigh next and should be foul, but let's ignore that fact for the sake of debate)
