He had to have been blitzed out of his grape. He was seriously messed up that night!

I didn't actually see the interview, but I heard highlights on the radio on friday.

Some people are insinuating that this was a publicity stunt. Showing up loaded to give himself street-credwhen he begins his so-called "rap career."

It's fucking rediculous, really.

If he had an ounce of brains in his head, he'd realise that this didn't work for Hassel The Hoff, why should it work for him?

The only viable goal he can hopefully obtain is as laughing stock #2.

If you want to eliminate all traces of respect for yourself, in the eyes of the public, AND ensure that you will never hear the phrase "And the Academy award goes to..." ever again, then I say, go for it.

Bottom line: He just fucked up.

From what I'm hearing, this was all just a jape on his part. Bit of a naff way to create 'publicity' for a 'rap career', but it's amusing to watch nonetheless. 😀

This is why Letterman Pwns leno. A stunt like this woulda had leno scrambling for a commercial or be just a deer in the headlights

Letterman makes fun of him and i love the ending "Well i wish Joaquin was able to be here today"

Ha. I think it was set up from the beginning, but David Letterman did everything he possibly could to really get a rise out of that Australopithecus he was interviewing and it was hilarious.

Considering his roles in Walk the Line and Buffalo Soldiers, I gotta wonder how much of a stretch it was for him.

I loved this. Whether you take Joaquin at his word or not, this was one of those great Letterman moments virtually on par with Andy Kaufman vs. Jerry Lawler, or Crispin Glover's drugged-up first appearance... "I'm strong... I can arm wrestle... ...I can kick!" 😀

He looks like he double dropped some pills or something.
Funny bastard
