OMG what a tragedy! Jose was my favorite pitcher, I thought he was en route to be the best pitcher in the game. He was also a great young man. RIP.

I was stunned and saddened to hear of Mr Fernandez's passing.

R.I.P. Mr Fernandez.

This is beyond sad. He happened to play minor league ball in my hometown and everyone who ever met him has only good things to say about him. His stories of immigrating to our country and saving his mother from drowning are amazing and illustrate what a good man he was. And that's to say nothing about the type of competitor and player he was.

RIP. The world just lost an inspirational and other worldly talented human being.

Sad day to see someone so young, vibrant and full of life suddenly gone. Got caught three times trying to escape Cuba trying to come here just to play baseball. His enthusiasm and boyish energy was infectious to his teammates and the community of Miami. Prayers to his family, the Marlins and all who knew and loved him. RIP Jose, gone way too soon.
