Hi folks,

It's been a long time coming. I've been planning the Adventures in time book ever since I created julie McGee for the VU series. Believe me it's close at hand. I know there have been delays along the way. That's been really hard to control with both my regular graphic studio business, and personal life. FTKL has also been busy with projects of his own including getting his Martial Arts school off the ground. There is just so much we want to do and so little time to get everything worked in.
That brings me to the biggest annoucement about the series. Due to his schedule, FTKL will NOT be able to draw the Adventures in Time series. I know many of you were waiting for it, but it just wasn't going to work out schedule wise. We would be able to get an issue out, but would have to wait months between issues. It's no one person's fault, it's just life. Rest assured FTKL and I will be working on more projects as we can work them in. We're by no means going away. I'm actually banging out the details of another one shot script for him. I'm really looking forward to it. It's a story I've been dying to get out for awhile now, so stay tuned.
So, where does that leave Julie and Kelli? Back on track, that's where. Dr. Dave is stepping in to pencil and ink the project. The Dr. is changing his style for this new project, and I really like what I see. I already have pages in house, and he's inking the rest as we speak. With Dr. Dave's schedule, we'll be able to get an issue finished practically every month. As long as life goes according to plan that is!🙂
So, here's a sample of things to come. I hope you all enjoy it and will look forward to the new direction.

As always, keep the faith.

The sample artwork looks promising. It's very Mau Russo-esque.
Good luck!

As a long-time fan of VU (I own the whole series, as well as many other MTJ publications) along with Julie's Time pinup, not to mention a devoted fan of FTKL, I have to say I'm bummed that he hasn't got the time to do the series.

On the other hand, at least the series is going to continue. But I do HOPE that the new version will keep the faith and stay true to Julie... i.e., she *loves* being tickled and will orgasm because of it. :2poke:

Hope we get to see lots of that :woot:

Thanks for the support folks,

Not to worry TickleFur. remember, I was the one who created Julie. She's based on my wife, so I have every intention to keep the character true to form, as well as expand her to her original intended vision. In VU, she was one of the youngest characters, but since this is her series, I've tweaked her a little to make her a tad older while adding Kelli as the younger sidekick. Kelli is 24, while Julie is now 30.
I know fans were expecting to see FTKL do the series, but it just isn't possible. With Dave onboard, we can now move forward and get it out in a timely fashion. Also at times I wanted to push the envelope on tortures including topless scenes. That's an area FTKL didn't really want to go. I greatly respect him for his decision, but it did hold me back a little on some of my story plots. Dr. Dave is willing to pull out the stops so there is no telling what you'll see. I'm stil holding by my decision to not do lower body nudity though.

As always, I promise,

Keep the faith

I know very well how life can often get in the way of an artist's plans. I think the new works with Dave will be wonderful, if the attached sample is any indication.

Best of luck with the series! I can't wait to see the finished product. :triangle:

Thanks Dave,

You've always been supportive of the projects I've been involved with and that means a lot. I'm really happy with the art direction the series is taking. It's going to be a fun series. Two more pages just came in, so that's 7 out of 10 pages inked already. The others are pencilled, so we're off to a good start.

Keep the faith and thanks again

Thanks BZ, that's good news to hear! Julie always has been my favourite lady from the entire VU series, so you can imagine my joy when I first found out she was getting a series of her own :redheart: 😛oke3:

The addition of upper-body nudity is AWESOME :woot: I'm an upper-body tickle fan, and let's face it, tickling of this kind is inherently *very* sexual, so the nudity and orgasms is wonderful. Toss in the girl-girl and Julie's begging to be tickled, and you have perfection

Well, if you added furs (as in coats, blankets, etc) then that'd be the ultimate for me 😉

Oh, and that Julie's based on your wife... you are one *lucky* man :bowing:

Well...I will say that while I am sad FTKL won't be involved in this project, I think a new artistic direction is also fresh and can have nice payoffs, especially since I am sure the fanbase will greatly appreciate more sexual content in their media.

Very nice, BZ. Life REALLY sucks when it get's in YOUR way. Like to see a whole lot more! But we all know it isn't always possible.

I have to say I'm gutted.

The VU series and the AIT posterbook were brilliant and in comics the artwork style is everything.

I can't say I like the sample artwork nearly as much so I won't be buying but thats my taste and opinion and good luck all the same.

Look foward to seeing FTKL back in the future.

So...if the art is everything, I guess that means my stories aren't worth spit.

Sorry we can't please everyone, but what the heck, we'll put it out anyway. :woot:

Keep the faith

BZ--

While not having FTKL working on the series is something of a disappointment, I like Dr. Dave's art on the Pulp Tickles series, and his new style is definitely something I want to see more of. The big thing for me is seeing the continuation of the Julie continuity which you've already established. She was a favorite character in VU, so seeing more of her exploits on both sides of the feather is what I'm most excited about. From your writing on Pulp Tickles, I just know Julie is going to have lots of fun adventures tickling and being tickled in time!!!

Well, as Julie's original artist, I'm liking Dave's style and I look forward to see where he and BZ take this. Best of luck to both of you!

Don't get so sensitive BZ... Really no need.

Yes I do like the stories and characters in these series and might even buy an e-novel of this stuff if you went that way one day in the future.

Though it's a comic and a comic means pictures. I'm a big fan of FTKL's artwork style and would like to see a lot more of it.

Don't look for offence where there is none and if you must you can comfort yourself with the fact that I've spent upward of $150 on your stuff so far and am looking forward to shelling out more.

As I said before good luck with the comic.

I say this because contextual, I do not expect nor did I expect a change in artist to change the integrity of the story presented in the art. How it looks is one thing aesthetic.

Hello there,

Being a writer myself, I wonder in this case if it's the story or the drawing that is more important. Being a visual person, I always found FTKL drawings to be very appealing. However, if the story behind those drawings was bad (and all the VU storylines were captivating), I don't know if it would have made me reconsider buying the mags.

I believe it's a combination of the two that make a series a success. If the new drawings manage to flesh out the story just as FTKL drawings did, it will be a success in my humble opinion. I know I will buy the series because the Julie McGee character is one of my favorite from the VU series, especially if there is nylon tickling.

I hope I was able to offer my opinion in a polite way.

Don't mind me folks, I knew we'd be in for changes with a new penciller on the project. Anytime you make changes on a book you'll lose some readers, while gaining others. Some cool stuff is planned, we just hope people give us a try. As for nylons Libtick, I'll work them in as I can/ Normally Julie and Kelli don't wear them, but I'll make sure I do work some scenes in where possible.

Like I said, don't mind me. Sometimes when you put a lot of effort into something you can get a little sensitive. I remember back when I was coloring Catwoman, and I was doing the Philly show with Balent. We were signing books for a couple of hours and a guy came by with a stack. I was getting ready to start signing, when he said he only wanted the artist to sign them. Jim and I get into a conversation with him about colorists being artists in their own right, but the guy wasn't having any of that. We knew he was just looking to sell them at his shop later. After the guy left, Jim leaned over to me and said, "Don't worry about it, I signed both our names on them anyway." That was really cool, and i never forgot that.

On a side note, be sure to check out an ebay auction I'm running now. It's a Wonder Woman / Cheetah tickle piece. Do a search for Wonder Woman Cheetah Catfight. It's a rough I'm selling for the artist.

Know where you're coming from BZ. I'm a sci-fi writer by trade and I've always been a comic fan. The writer was always a secondary thought to most comic fans; until the last ten to twenty years. Now, some writer's tables rival artist's tables for signings at cons. It's funny, but one can't exist without the other. The same is true for colorists and inkers, who don't simply trace the work (not if they're any good) but add expression to it. If folks thumbed through Steve Rude's book on inking, they would see how vastly different the same picture can look when inked by different people. Ah well, unless you're the artist, you're second banana, no matter what you do. With rare exceptions, directors and writers don't get mobbed by fans, it's the actor who takes the bows for the team effort.

Thanks for the kind words Joe, both in general and for the Banks piece. That's just a rough, you should see what he does on finished pinups. He actually did the layout for the last VU cover. I've been working with him for years now.

Thanks again.

appeciation

Thanks for the update, I was waiting for A.I.T.to come out and now I'm still waiting. Life does work the way it wants to, so do what you can when you can, the effort is really appreciated.

I've seen a few samples of the new art style Dr. Dave is using for Adventures in Time and it looks fantastic. The one panel example shown here is great but truly does not even begin to capture what I have seen thus far.

Combining Dr. Dave’s new Style with BZ Tickler's unsurpassed coloring technique this new series will really be something to behold. Not to mention the outrageously good storyline BZ has plotted out for the series.

Trust me...If you are a connoisseur of tickling comics with sizzling hot heroines being tickled senseless. You are the target audience and you are not going to want to miss this series.
