June had been a tough month for me...

My paternal grandfather passed away last week on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 4 days after battling cancer for three long years.
My family had been extremely busy with arranging three auctions that would be auctioning off his immense collection of machinery, tools, and vehicles. My father's sister from Kentucky and her family came up and helped with these auctions.
June had been a whirlwind of auctioning off my grandfather's stuff and helping those people collect their things. My grandpa was then placed in the hospital the day after the last auction, and for over a week he deteriorated until he finally passed away.
His funeral had been on Saturday, July 2, 2005. It's been tough, but now he's at peace and isn't in pain anymore.
I'm so thankful that there is a place like TMF with so many wonderful people and where I can post to let out all of my frustrations.

It's never easy losing a loved one, TN. You obviously loved your Grandfather very much and I'm sure he loved you dearly, too. I wish you and your family peace and lots of love in this time of sorrow.

Hi nemesis,
I have never read anything you have posted, but your words touched me. I am sorry to hear about your loss.

I don't know if this may help you, but in my religion when a loved one passes away, we believe that if we perform some charity on the deceased's behalf, it will benefit us, as well that person will receive credit for the charity.

Thanks for all of your kind words. It is hard and I did love him very much. I miss him. 🙁

blondie46, that's an interesting belief. What is your religion? I've thought of donating some money to the Relay For Life in honor of him.
