Just checking in to let folks know I'm all right

Hello.

Two months ago I said I was taking a long leave of absence to think things through and figure out where I stood on this fetish: http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?t=65795

Nothing has changed since then, but I wanted to let people know that I am all right. (I had been e-mailing a couple of people when I was posting actively, but now I am not in touch with anyone from the board and my private messages are still turned off.)

I do, however, still appreciate the number of patient people who explained things to me and made my five month stay on the board a little easier. (You all know who you are.)

It's weird, but I find I have only had middle-level desires for the fetish at most, and except for a few times when something I saw (usually on TV) gave me a bad, bad pang, it did not seem too important. Well, a little important, perhaps. I still have not indulged in this fetish--but I have been so busy with so many things (both for work and pleasure) that I have not indulged in sex in a long time either. Yeah, I know, not healthy. Working on it.

Now that the novelty has worn off, the friends I confided in (none of them tickle fans) and I no longer even discuss my interest in tickling. I mean, they would if I asked them to, but I guess I just stopped speaking about it.

The guy I was sorta-dating-but-not-really-but-kinda is no longer a love interest, but he is someone I hope to remain friends with. (We've been trading voice mail all weekend, for example, and I can see us continuing to get along famously even though there is no way we could ever be sexual together. Opposites may attract, but polar opposites?)

And no, ladies and one fellow gay man on the board, I don't know if he's ticklish. It just never came up. 😎

I imagine he is--just a feeling--but it's only a guess.

In closing, I wish you all good health and happiness. I still don't know where I stand on the fetish and if I am coming back, but my weekend plans got canceled, I was on the net, and I felt like sending a warm hello. 🙂

Nothing wrong in taking "a break in the action" now and again. Harm springs from excess. It's wise to subdue your passions, although if I understand you correctly tickling was not exactly a passion. Also, good to see you recognize that excessive abstinance is still... an excess.

Fetish-wise, I just go with what turns me on. I never gave any thought to it, I just know I like it, and I want to do it, so I might as well enjoy it if I can. Haven't been able to much yet, but hey, I'm sure more opportunities will arise. 😉

Again, thanks to everyone for the posts in this thread. A few of them made me feel very happy.

I have reopened my private messages in case anyone has anything else to say to me. The e-mail account I had used with this board was erased months ago, so it won't be possible to contact me there.

Right now I don't see a need to be active on this board again, as I have no fetish news to report since, of course, I still have not indulged and I have not come to any decision. It was all the rage talking about my fetish with the friends I confided in this summer (none of whom share it), but now fetish talk feels so... last summer. 😀

Thank you for the suggestion, IK70, but I am far too biased as a gay ultra-liberal to post in General Discussion, where I am sure my temper would get me in trouble. Even under attack, I remained cordial on this board during my time here, and that is how I intend to continue to be. Unleashing my temper would only make the moderators' job harder, and I have no problem with any of them.

I am only on one message board, and I have been there for years. It has nothing to do with fetishes or sex, and I use my real name and photo there. I don't have a lot of Internet time, and that one takes care of my social needs when real-life friends are busy or I am too tired to go out.

Here's hoping Santa leaves twelve foot feathers under your trees...
