I know many of you out there-(wrestling fans), have had it up to here -(Laz holds hand above head) with HHH still having the title and all, but a few points, if you will....
When I was WNIWF World Champ, (yes, all 23 times), (from the age of 12 until 28), what we had done, is change the title at least every 6 months, so it wouldn't get stale.
Grant you, we came up with different challangers, and types of matches, but we'd have the build-up, the feud, and the "big" match at the end....
With the exception of when I would wrestle, "feud", with T.S.-( My real-life younger brother), we had feuded off and on for damn near 11 years, and literally have had an extremely high amount of matches with each other.
We have always done things to make sure the product never got stale, tho...
Within the span of 1 week, we had 5 matches-5 different days- and traded the NIWF title back and forth each of those 5 times.
(NIWF was merged with WNEWF in 2000, thus creating the WNIWF)
But I have gone for 5 or 6 months before a title change, whereas he had gone, at the longest, 5 years without losing the title...
My point is this;
Now, alot of you bitch about HHH having the title, only dropping it for short periods to Michaels and Goldberg, but consider this...
Hulk Hogan, in the early-mid 80's, had a stranglehold on the WWF title, for over 4 years straight....Jan. 23rd, 1984-Feb. 5th, 1988....
4 years and 13 days, to be exact....
Now, how many of you wrestling fans were Hulkamaniacs?
Also, how over was Hogan at that time in his life?
You hate HHH; he's doing his job.
You loved Hogan in the day; he was doing his job.
Trust me, I know....
HHH will be losing the belt shortly, and will NOT have it for quite awhile...
But with the WNIWF, we had a constant influx of new and young talent, which was pushed quite well....
HHH using his backstage/inlaw stroke?
So was Hogan, when he buried Savage/Steamboat for upstaging his match at WM III with Andre....
Just a little food for thought...
🙂
