I know many of you out there-(wrestling fans), have had it up to here -(Laz holds hand above head) with HHH still having the title and all, but a few points, if you will....

When I was WNIWF World Champ, (yes, all 23 times), (from the age of 12 until 28), what we had done, is change the title at least every 6 months, so it wouldn't get stale.

Grant you, we came up with different challangers, and types of matches, but we'd have the build-up, the feud, and the "big" match at the end....

With the exception of when I would wrestle, "feud", with T.S.-( My real-life younger brother), we had feuded off and on for damn near 11 years, and literally have had an extremely high amount of matches with each other.

We have always done things to make sure the product never got stale, tho...

Within the span of 1 week, we had 5 matches-5 different days- and traded the NIWF title back and forth each of those 5 times.

(NIWF was merged with WNEWF in 2000, thus creating the WNIWF)

But I have gone for 5 or 6 months before a title change, whereas he had gone, at the longest, 5 years without losing the title...

My point is this;

Now, alot of you bitch about HHH having the title, only dropping it for short periods to Michaels and Goldberg, but consider this...

Hulk Hogan, in the early-mid 80's, had a stranglehold on the WWF title, for over 4 years straight....Jan. 23rd, 1984-Feb. 5th, 1988....

4 years and 13 days, to be exact....

Now, how many of you wrestling fans were Hulkamaniacs?

Also, how over was Hogan at that time in his life?

You hate HHH; he's doing his job.

You loved Hogan in the day; he was doing his job.

Trust me, I know....

HHH will be losing the belt shortly, and will NOT have it for quite awhile...

But with the WNIWF, we had a constant influx of new and young talent, which was pushed quite well....

HHH using his backstage/inlaw stroke?

So was Hogan, when he buried Savage/Steamboat for upstaging his match at WM III with Andre....

Just a little food for thought...

🙂

Lazamania runnin' wild, BROTHER!!

Damn, I have to hand it to those who constructed the TMF....

That ignore option is the BEST damn addition to this place....

Forgive me, tho, as I shant go off-topic, as some others tend to do with such frequency....

i bitch because back in the day, hogans matches were good. Hogan never complained about dropping the title.

hhh writes his own storylines. He grants himself title matches and non-title matches at will. When you have a guy his size going toe to toe with little spike dudley there is a problem.

I also bitch because the wrestlers i enjoy watching like jericho, benoit, rvd, will never get a strong hold on the title and will become jobers.

I cant imagine why neutron you would want to go into the wwe. No matter how good you are as long as hhh or the rock is there, you'll be working matches on heat.

wwe needs some dame diversity. The belts need some credibility. Im always going to watch raw or smackdown, but i dont expect to see anything amazing.

Ah.....

Study, m'boy....

Hogan DID balk quite a bit about not only losing the title, but WINNING it...

WM IX was supposed to be Bret winning, and moving on to Shawn Michaels, among others...

Hogan bitched, and was granted the title, on the terms he was to fight Hart at Summerslam, and drop it to him.

Hogan agreed, won the title, and right after he won it, said he would NOT defend it until June at KOTR, but also, he would NOT defend it or drop it against Hart, as he felt Hart was not ready.

Hogan has never lost clean to Savage, as he still holds a grudge against him for Pontiac Silverdome....

Like I said, HHH is hated, to be sure, and he may or may not have a say about backstage politics (I'm sure he does), but after his treatment in May 96, in a way, he deserves to be where he's at in this point of his life.

He will be dropping the title soon enough, as he has some movie cameos to fulfill, such as his appearance in the upcoming Blade 3 movie.

Tell me, people, in your honest opinions, who most deserves to have a run as champ?

Rather, who would be able to carry the WWF as champ, and do a great job with it?

Any Maven comments and I'll send Meems after youse with a set of keys.

😉

It's funny, when I was a little Hulkamaniac, it used to bother me that I never saw Hogan wrestle on television. He'd never show up on Prime Time Wrestling (Before RAW came about.), and we never ever bought pay-per views. It's a wonder how I even liked Hulk Hogan. As far as who I'd like to see be the champion, now, it's hard to say. Triple H does a good job, but he doesn't seem to hold my attention very much, lately. In all fairness, due to being on TAD in Albany, Georgia for the past two weeks, I guess I've had Smackdown more on my mind, since I missed RAW for the past two weeks, and all I've really seen is the Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Eddie Guerrero thing. I like the feud between Triple H and Shawn Michaels, but I think I'd rather see Chris Benoit as the champion. I like Shawn Michaels, but I don't know if I can see him as a "dominant" champion, nowadays. Benoit just seems more like he's got the persona for a champion, nothing too far out or crazy.

Swiped from the British wrestling mag Powerslam, and to the tune of "Without Me":

BACKGROUND SINGERS:
Guess who's back, back again?
Triple's back, warn a friend
Guess who's back?

HHH:
I've created a monster nobody can stop
No matter how hard they drop me or chop

I don't care if you think I'm cocky
Screw your Chris, your Brock, your Rocky

From Big Show-size down to Funaki
If he came here I'd squash Kobashi!

You got me? Even with the blown-out quad
And my matches mediocre, you can call me God

Although I don't have quite the bulk
When it comes to being selfish, you can call me Hulk

So the WWE lets me be me
A scarier sight, you'll never see

Showed a close-up of my nose on MTV
It looked like an igloo built for three

But sometimes it just seems
Everybody calls me a pompous jerk

That must mean I'm quite the berk
Every night I go to work

Though I'm about as hip as Sgt. Slaughter
I'm betrothed to the boss' daughter

Put no one over, although I oughta
Sink those rating every quarter

Unless you were once in The Clique
I'll screw you with a dirty trick

But no matter how many fish in the sea
'The Game' is all about me, me, me

CHORUS:
Now book another win for me
So everybody just job for me
On every single PPV
And every time we're on TV

Now book another win for me
So everybody just job for me
On every single PPV
And every time we're on TV

Nyah nyah nyah nyah-nyah
Nyah nyah nyah nyah-nyah
Nyah nyah nyah nyah-nyah
Nyah nyah nyah nyah.

ok i stand corrected laz!

But honestly what has hhh done to win the belt. Has he won any impressive matches lately without the use of the sledge hammer or evolution.

Well....

Don't get me wrong; I'm not nagging or anything....

HHH and Michaels had a hell of a match a few weeks ago, with NO interference, foreign objects, etc....

HHH won by a draw, as Michaels and HHH punched each other, HHH fell, Michaels staggered, and fell atop HHH, but both men's shoulders were on the mat for the 3-count....

Thus, the champion keeps the title in the event of a draw.....

😀

I agree with everything you say, but let me add my 2 cents

The problem is that everytime this jerk holds the belt it has to be 4ever. Same thing when Stone Cold held the belt. These guys hold it for so long, that the guys who should be pushed aren't. Funny, when the Rock held it, the longest he's ever had it was 3 months, and this guy puts more asses in the seats, makes the company a hell of a lot more money, and he can't hold the belt long? Its one thing if Triple H defended it every night without needing help, but we all know the deal. And then we have to hear some long boring diatribe about how he's the best in the game. At what? sleeping with the boss' daughter? That's the only reason he's on top, just because of that. His history is he can't win anything without help. Point blank. There are alot of guys who could run with the ball, but unfortunately will never get the chance. Jericho? He was great as World champ, didn't get ot hold the belt long. Booker T? Benoit? Edge? I could go on and on. Trust me, if Vince wants his audience back, and keep the people he has, WMXX better be off the charts, and that title better change hands, because anymore time with him as champ will be disastrous

Funny thing NT, but I don't remember Austin holding the title for more than 4 or 5 months. Mind you, it's been a while since I bothered. The storylines are so trite and the title reigns so short. It also bugs me that there's virtually more belts than there are guys to wear them.

Personally I'd like to see Bret come back. Not much chance of that since his stroke and all, but I'd like to see it anyway. Seeing him come back in front of a Canadian crowd and level both Vince and Shawn would allow me to die a happy man.

Brets been offered some mic time to make a farewell speech at wrestlemania 20, but so far he has declined all offers. boo hoo!

Also, i heard a rumor that hhh is trying to get dx back together. IT would be HHH, xpac, edge, and shawn.

Anyway, im looking forward to wrestlemania. Alot of good matches planned. Plus the return of the "dead man".

Shame about Bret. I'm not surprised that he turned it down though. Only an incentive like being able to crush Vince's gonads under a tow-truck would bring him back.

I've heard it suggested that Shawn should put together his own stable to oppose Evolution ... and call it Creation.

I'm a lot more excited about Wrestlemania after last night. Angle/Guerrero should be nothing short of terrific. At least it's not a silly three-way attempt to pander to certain people's egos...

I. too, am looking forward the the return of The Undertaker. but x-pac? Ewwwww! Yuck! I could never stand him, and if I never see the miserable, lousy, rotten, little pipecleaner again, it'll be six months TOO SOON!

Not to go on a rant, or anything.
