Kamelot and Leaves Eyes

These and two of the greatest symphonic metal bands you will hear! They played last night in Houston...fucking AMAZING!!! Truly an epic show!!! Also, as big as both bands are, they were both very accessible and personable to the fans. I got to stand and talk with Khan (singer of Kamelot) for a while about his music and american fans.
Kamelot is a symphonic metal band that mixes in neoclassical and arabian themes into their music. Very melodic music that can only be described as being darkly beautiful with a heavy punch to it.
Leaves Eyes is a great melodic metal band with great mood and folk elements in their music. Also, they have a great female lead vocalist named Liv Kristine who is an angel.

hells yeah! thanks for turning me on to some new bands, Alc! i've been listening to Lordi and Battlelore myself lately, and always looking for something different to plug my head into.

You've got to be kidding me. I move from Houston a month ago and NOW they play? And I lived there for two years. What GARBAGE!

I love them both, but I am a bigger fan of Leaves Eyes'. They rock! 😀

Never heard of Leaves Eyes before, I should check them out. Though I am usually not all that into bands with female vocals -- somehow, they can never do it as good in my opinion, it always seems to be lacking something. No offense to women here, unless you feel like taking offense to it.

Been a fan of Kamelot for a long time, though. Khan is definitely a melodic genius. 😀 Rhapsody of Fire is pretty good for the symphonic stuff as well. My favorite band at the moment is Edguy, and the vocalist Tobias Sammet's solo Avantasia albums.

Other melodic metal/power metal bands if interested: Power Quest, Dragonforce, Sonata Arctica, Angra, Stratovarius, Hammerfall.

Kamelot is really nice "relax metal"! 🙂
Cool to see there are more metal heads here.

I like more of the extreme stuff however....
