Some time ago I was talking with Khali about the poser tickling pics she used to create years ago, and of which I still had quite a collection on my old hard drive. Khali thought them to be outdated, mainly because the poser version she used in the days was not as advanced nor realistic like the current version.
I disagreed. I've experimented with 3D before, and I would do most of the detailing and effects in post-render. To prove my point, I did a quick reworking of one of my all time favourites in photoshop, just adding some textures and highlights, and running some filters on it.

Khali gave me the permission to share it with you all, so here you go. 🙂 I've included the original for comparison and to show what's really possible in post-render. 🙂

Very good. I like how the sharpness is more blended out. It seems more natural now. The original poser image is very good. I'm not one who is big into poser so with that being said I am impressed. I would definitely go through all the old stuff and tweak them out. It's worth it.

Well, I'll leave that up to Khali herself, since it's her original work, after all. But thank you for the kind comments on the tweaking of this classic pic. 🙂

I miss seeing Khali's work of art. The way it was made really caught my attention because it looks more 3D than I imagined. 🙂

By the way, nice editing!

I neglected to mention this in my comment at the TMF but I am especially impressed by how you handled the gossamer character of that Arabian outfit; to me it looks no simple thing to pull off! So too is Kelyn's face impressive: the life added to her eyebrows and lashes and the slight change to how the light hits her eyes makes the expression that much more vivid. Excellent work.

A fresh Scav paint job spiffs up this classic Khali quite nicely! Dynamic deep focus perspective in the original is beautifully complimented by the softening and increased detail of the painterly re-do. Textures have become richer and far more organic... flesh-tones (with dramatic new shadowing and blush) and the lush, heathy background particularly benefit! It's easy to see the continued usefulness of Poser for maintaining good body proportion in any orientation and for conferring spectacle... this augmentation negates nearly all of its plastic-looking artificiality! A startling demonstration indeed!

Very cool. I especially like the revamp. It looks a lot more lively. Very cool!

Scav,

Khali is a gifted CGI artist and your render is a fine tribute to her work.

FT Genikit: Indeed, there's a great sense of perspective in the original pic, which I tried to take full use of in my reworked version. Who knows, perhaps we might see a whole new revival of 3D tickling art in the future... 🙂

Magnata: Thanks!

HDS: Uhm... well, the source picture did have all of the potential of the pic I did, but not everything is done right by the Poser render engine, so I softened the whole thing, which did help bringing out the material of Safira's belly dancer outfit. That, and some colored overlays, some strokes with the dodge tool, and some third party Photoshop plugins. Once you know the tricks it's not that all difficult to do...
Thank you! 🙂

Littlebighead: Thank you!
Indeed, the older version of Poser is still very useful. It gives a basic colored, shaded and highlighted output, that can easily be tweaked and expanded on in photoshop. I used the latest CS3 version, but since I used none of Photoshop's really advanced functions, I suppose it's possible to do with anything from Photoshop 7 and up -or even with Photoshop Elements, which I used for quite some time before upgrading to CS3.

Ilohnoh: Thanks! 🙂

Jim: Thank you, my friend. Indeed, Khali is a very talented artist, and I'd love to see her do more 3D art like she used to do. 🙂

Quite a notable comeback! Some arts are like wine: the older they become the better they taste. Just like this Khali's pic, and your rework on it came out stupendous! Great work, both Khali and scavenger01!

Indeed, indeed. Many of Khali's pics have become classics that many forum veterans will remember. I just spiced it up with some present day software and techniques...
Thanks! 🙂
