a killer tornado ripped thru parts of indiana and kentucky over the night, and although this doesnt begin to compare to hurricane katrina, for these people and these towns, the affect is the same. total devastation and deaths. now the storms are headed for ohio and pennsylvania as well as western west virginia. all in the line of this storm please stay safe.

Even up here near Niagara Falls, the wind is unbelievable! :wow: It's been gusting well above 100 km/h all day. Hopefully the power stays on so I can still catch the hockey game at 5 😀 But in all seriousness, so sorry to hear about yet more devestation in the US 🙁

It makes me glad to live(geographically) where I do.

Here, we have no chance whatsoever of hurricanes, and tornadoes have not happened in our area aside from high winds from time to time.

Oh, yeah, earthquakes will also never happen here.

You know, I bitch about the landscape, here, but failed to realise, until now, how lucky we are in my province.

It doesnt surprise me. That same system brought thunderstorms and very high winds here last night. I had wondered if anything was going to happen because it was a very fast moving storm. Very unusual for this time of year around here. Kept hoping all my leaves would be gone and I wouldnt have to rake. Things have finally settled down now and gotten very cold.

It's virtually impossible to escape from natural disasters completely. The best thing is to live in a relatively safe area, like Dussicar does (and my own to some extent, though earthquakes and fires are threats where I live), and live in good homes instead of trailer parks like those poor folks who got swept away by the tornados. But of course, not everyone can afford to relocate or live in good areas. Good luck to everyone in tornado country.

I'm sorry to hear about the tornado. I know how it is since I live in tornado alley and we get them all the time here in Mississippi. The devestation can be terrible and it's even worse when people aren't given enough warning. Stay safe!

death toll goes up. 22 now and probably more. to these people, it might as well have been hurricane katrina. and unlike a hurricane, [people dont get much warning before a tornado hits. very scary indeed.
