Well.........isn't that just grand that Naomi Watts doesn't even get a poke from Kong. With the three hour running time, you'd think they wouldn't OMIT that scene.
Which, I must say, is hot and looks FANTASTIC in the new DVD re-release of the original 1933 version. Fay Wray...oh my gosh. So hot.
Side question: Fay Wray was apparently tickled in another movie, but I've never seen it and don't know the name. Can anyone help me out?
Ok, so that alone.......just the classic Kong scene of Kong tickling/teasing her, always been one of my favorites. When I was a kid, I wasn't sure if it was tickling. Seeing it two nights ago, there's NO question about it. The music even goes along with it and plays "tickle" music.
But that's not why I'm writing!!!!
I watch the extras, which are FANTASTIC.
The first featurette is a documentary about the director Merrian Cooper. And in that documentary is fantastic, fantastic footage of him tickling the crap out of his pretty young brunette wife. This is definitely no question about it, he's got a great hold on her sides and she's trying to get away, but he won't let her, and I couldn't believe my eyes basically.
So.....if any clipmakers out there: if you already like King Kong, you simply MUST have this DVD anyway.....it's superb beyond all words. The special effects are still stunning. The extras are fantastic. But.........there's also a great mainstream tickling in there, not to mention the Kong tickling Fay scene within the movie itself.
I saw it at my mom's, I'm going to order it soon, as soon as I'm not broke anymore!
Has anyone else seen this? I'll even tell you where it comes in in the documentary. It's right in between the King Kong section and Becky Sharp/invention of Technicolor sequence. Basically, it's at the very end of the King Kong chapter, right before they're showing footage of "Becky Sharp"

for you.
My bad.
. I don't even notice it being mentioned in Disc II. There is a scene where Kong is peeling off her clothes but he isn't tickling her! I was quite disappointed by this.
When I first was on this forum, I remember talking with another member about the fact that King Kong never came up in the mainstream section of the forum. I kind of wondered how many people were even aware of the tickling in it. I love that scene- it's one of my absolute favorites, and I saw it when I was a kid. As nontkl mentioned, Fay Wray certainly helps to make that scene. I don't know how many people on the board would get into it today, as it's 'faked'- but what a great job they did! The illusion is complete. Quite frankly, (the original) King Kong is such a great movie, that I would recommend seeing it regardless of the tickle scene.

. He had laid Fay Wray down on a rock. He picks her up, and she is just coming to (she must have fainted). Kong has a wide grin on his face- seen from Fay Wray's vantage point (like this
