Revenge can be so sweet... unless it happens to be salty instead! Scavenger's incomparable Inquisitress Kitzalia takes a licking at the hands (and taste-buds) of Miss Mercy Mew, just payment for the exquisite torture session she inflicted on the poor cat girl earlier! Don't ask how the hapless Mercy managed to force the formidable Kitzalia into such a sticky situation... I suspect dumb luck played a part:

Fantastic drawing, absolutely fantastic! 😀 Just like I already said on the TT, I'm amazed by the conversion of my character to your drawing style... but I already knew it would be great! 🙂
Your style does remind me of that of Robert Crumb's "Fritz the cat" (especially that of Bakshi's movie version of it) but also of the comics by the Dutch artist Marten Toonder. 🙂

Thank you so much for your compliments and your confidence, Scav! It was a rewarding challenge, learning to draw Kitzalia properly... she's an extremely well designed character! Thank you, too, for the comparison to R. Crumb: a heady compliment for any artist! I wasn't familiar with Marten Toonder, so did a bit of research: I can see that this reference is high praise too! What a distinguished career, spanning nearly the whole of the 20th century! His success is all the more noteworthy, considering his wartime occupation hardships. "Tom Poes" looks like very entertaining reading, most Carl Barks-like in the excellence of its fanciful imagery and the sophistication of its storytelling! I definitely want to find out more about this man and his work!

Yes indeed, I agree entirely! 🙂 This theme of tribute 'n' counter-tribute give the artist a chance to stretch his skills and everyone the fun of seeing favorite characters in a whole new light! It's certainly been a fruitful, rewarding experinece for me! I'm happy to be a part of it!

I'd certainly be an ungrateful hound not to cheer about this wonderful bounty of Low_Roads visibility! Yet again, my grateful thanks!

The majestic Kitzalia does in fact appear in Chapter 5 of the Low Roads... one of the very first tribute cameos! Perfectly fitting, as it was Scav who inspired me to start them (Mercy was an early guest victim of Kitz in his ground-breaking "Worlds Collide" series, to which this is the revenge picture!) I always find it fabulously entertaining to see how one artist will interpret another's character... not only does it provide fresh perspective, but it binds the Community all the closer!
