If the community has it's own symbol, do you want it to be called: -

1) A Knismolagniac Symbol
2) A Tickling Symbol
3) Something Else

My vote goes with "Tickling Symbol" or "Tickling Emblem" or similar.

Knismolagnian is my vote.

As a matter of fact, if you've been watching the thread about a symbol, one of the proposed symbols is the one below in my signature.

It is a symbol of a neuron, along with its subtle smiles of ticklish delight.

Its a cracking symbol. But knismolagniac? Really?

When I learned of the two supposed types of tickling that had been named Knismesis (more like itching sensation) and Gargalesis (more like belly laughter), I always preferred Gargalesis, if anything.

Knismesis, and Knismolagniac (more so) are a pain and an annoyance to pronounce.

There must be a better name?

I voted for tickling symbol since I never knew what knismolagiac means. 😀

Knismolagnia comes from knismos, a tickling, and lagneia, lust,
it's sexual arousal and erotic gratification derived from tickling or being tickled.

While that might work for some, it isn't all about lust for many here.
We're perfectly happy to tickle our friends, and we don't have to be,
and often are not sexually aroused by it.

The root is tickle. That's what we like, that's why we're here, and to
be make it more than that is to splinter off from the whole.

Go with Tickle. It's more inclusive.

I vote for tickle emblem or tickle symbol for the same reasons already sited.

Knismolagnia is tough to pronounce. It also is quite clinical. Additionally, it really is not all inclusive for the tickling community as there are those who it is not sexually arousing for.

My two cents anyhow,,,

Lee said this so much better than I was about to!

I totally agree. This is not sexual for everyone...and not always sexual for many. I'm opposed to a term or symbol that implies that. People should be free to adjust whatever is developed to make it more personal for them once it's done. So, the base should imply tickling...period. Can you guess from that what my vote was for? "Tickling Symbol" all the way!

No matter what we decide to "call" it, when I explain it to people, I'm gonna say tickling symbol. I can't pronounce knismolaga-knick-knack-paddywack....

My vote goes for tickling something or other, much easier on the ears and when speaking it.

I also went with tickling symbol mainly because the "K" word has way to many letters for my simple mind to comprehend.
I like much much smaller words, like tickling 🙂
