Wow.... After 17 years, 5 titles, 1 MVP, 2 Finals MVP, #4 on the all time scoring list, Kobe Bryant had an injury that ended his season, and may end his career. He tore his Achilles tendon in a game against Golden State and had surgery. The man has played through all kinds of injuries, but this is completely different. And at age 34, he may have a longer time to rehab.
Whether you like him, love him, or hate him, you have to admit he is one of the greatest NBA players of all time. His will to win is simply incredible. He may not be "Mr. Smiley", but his talents on the court are amazing. People have been saying he is a shell of himself, but this season was one of his finest. People say he is a selfish basketball player, but this season, he has really shown his ability as a leader. This is one of the craziest years in Laker land, but it helps Dwight Howard see that you can survive and fight through adversity. Now, the Lakers leader is down, will the team rise? I think they can because the team still has a bunch of guys who were at one time, the #1 guy on their team. They need to step up.
I hope Kobe's career isn't over because he deserved to finish it the way he wanted. Not by injury.
