the Lakers vs. Nuggets series has been really good so far. Nuggets could easily be up 2-0.
And now they are.
OMG!!
I spoke too soon!
They're going to be playing that on ESPN for the next two days!
Hats off to Lebron he just saved your season
Spoken like a true cynic! Thanks for the vote of confidence...nice.
If nothing else, paying fans will get their money's worth.
We'll see what we will see............![]()
woulda been lights out for sure blowing another lead like that but your messiah saved you ... for now
These two series are amazing.... Lakers survive a game in Denver. Hopefully they win tomorrow to put a stranglehold on Denver...
As for "King James" and the Cavs. They really should be down 0-2. That was a great shot by Lebron no doubt, but I find the media's coverage of it ridiculous. Yes, it was a game winning shot. Yes, Lebron actually delivered in the clutch. Yes, the City of Cleveland is now tied in their series, not down 0-2. Yes, it was a shot that will live on in "Where amazing happens" commercials from here on out.
The problem is, Cleveland deserved to LOSE that game. They blew a 23 point lead in that game. They would have went down 0-2 on their own floor. Yet, the media is fawning over the shot as though it capped a monumental Cleveland rally. Let's go back to 2002. Robert Horry hits a game winning 3 pointer to tie the Lakers-Kings series 2-2. Pandemonium ensues. BUT, the Lakers had to make a comeback from a 20 point deficit to win that game. The Cavs BLEW A 20 POINT LEAD.
This year in the playoffs, the Lakers have been skewered by the media (deservedly so) for blowing leads and lacking "killer instinct". They still win, but they get heavily criticized. Cleveland blew leads in BOTH games in this Eastern Conference Finals and NO ONE is skewering them? Why? Is it because Orlando played hard and fought their way back into the game? Same thing with Utah, but the Lakers lack killer instinct. Cleveland makes a miracle.
Anyone else notices this?
I just read that the NBA has fined both Phil Jackson and the Lakers organization $25,000 each for comments Jackson has made about the refs calls during the Lakers-Rockets series. It seems to me that over the years, Jackson has been constantly criticizing the refs calls. I have Phil's book, The Last Season, his memoir of the 2003-2004 season, before his second retirement from basketball. During that season both Jackson and the Lakers orginization were, on two occasions each, fined $50,000, for comments Jackson made about the referees. In one of those instances, Jackson stated that he told the media that the referees were, to quote him, "predjudiced" in their calls against then Lakers Center Shaq O Neal.
Phil should just keep it shut, and let his team play the games on the court. He has a good team, along with probably the co best player in the league in Kobe Bryant. (I say, co, because the other best player in the league is clearly Cavs forward Lebron James) Phil and his Lakers should make their statements on the court, winning basketball games, to get back to the finals, instead of having the coach complain off the court all the time.

Kis, c'mon now. The whole Kobe is a "one man team" thing is not true. If there ever was a definition of a "one man team" it is Cleveland. You know, Lebron completely deserves the MVP. You take him off of Cleveland and that team is watching ping pong balls in blender hoping to get the #1 pick. That team has NO ONE but Lebron James. You take Kobe off the Lakers and they still have a shot at the playoffs with Gasol, Odom and the rest of the crew.
Actually, I WANT Cleveland to win now. Man, the Lakers could sweep those guys. Orlando is the scariest team remaining and to me, they are the favorites right now to win the crown. That's right folks, I think they can beat my Lakers. They are scary! Ask Lebron about them....
Oh yeah, for all this Kobe bashing and Lebron love, is Kobe AVERAGING 40 points in his series? Hmmm, he isn't and his team is 1 win away from the Finals. "MVP" James is averaging 40 points and his team is 1 defeat away from "fishin"....and they call Kobe the ballhog. How come Lebron isn't making his stiffs, er, I mean teammates better?
If denver plays orlando in the finals, it will probably be the least watch championship in NBA history.
And it's thinking like that makes me want to see Orlando and Denver even more...
People think just because Kobe and Lebron didn't make the finals, that the finals would just flat out suck and that nobody would watch, when in reality no one knows for sure. Need I remind NBA fans that you had Lebron in the finals in 2007 and nobody watched. To try and make a conparison, Pittsburgh and Arizona in the Super Bwl this year was outstanding and I'll bet you asked anyone if they would watch that at the start of the year, they would more than likely laugh in your face.
Denver and Orlando might be the great finals ever played, or if you do get a Kobe vs. Lebron finals it might be so one sided that it would be just plain sad that TV time had to be wasted for it.
Ive said before and I'll say again I want to see the two best team play in the finals, I dont care who they are, just as long as they're two team that have earned the right to play for the championship.
