I just read in the paper today that Lance Armstrong is being investigated for using the banned substance EPO. It would be a shame if he has been using performance boosting drugs and this only goes to show there hasn't been one sport not touched by drug scandals.

They didn't. They have been investigating him since his first win. In fact the latest allegation comes from RE-TESTING of urine samples from 1999. Apparently new technology allows to test for banned substances better now than then.
Seems a little suspicious if you ask me...but Mr. Armstrong has denied the use of drugs for years now...and he has passed every test ever given to him.
We shall see.

Detection technology always has and always will lag behing the drug technology. After all, where's the big money going?
Also, even if his samples positive for something at some time in the future he can (justifiably) question the validity of the test...call it the product of a "witch hunt" or "quack science" or "fraud" or something.

If you've ever checked out his physical statistics (not peformance, but his actual physiology), the man is a machine! His body is perfectly built for cycling. He may be a bit of a human anomaly, but it's not science, it's pure nature baby

I agree with Narin.... the man is a machine... my brother used to do a lot of biking professionally.. I believe it.
I'm one of those people who usually see the best in people anyway but having to keep fit myself so that I can play rugby (sometimes twice in a week) and having a mate called John who runs 5 or 6 marathons a year for fun (he must be crazy!) I kind of know what the body is capable of.
I agree with Narin and 'kitten Lance Armstrong is a cycling machine and after his cancer scare I don't think that there's anyway he would undo all that hard work by now doing drugs to win. He's got nothing to prove anyway, he is and has always been a legend.

Lance Armstong has to be one of the World's greatest athletes that has ever lived. Considering his success and the nature of modern athletics it is not a surprise that he's been under suspician. Every athlete is under suspician these days. I think it is a shame that people here would question Lance's integrity with virtually nothing to say that he has used performance enhancing drugs.
I think the guy is a phenom, period. One of the greatest athletes of the modern era.
Truth is...you cant say if he has or hasnt. Beating cancer and being a nice person does not make him above suspicion, and unless we all have tested his piss, we really dont know. He is still a human, people can make mistakes in judgement in their lives.

The man is a machine with a BIGTIME strategy group and supporting team of riders around him throughout the race. . Lance et all simply outsmart and outplan the competition.

Some proof would be him testing positive 6 times in the 1999 tour for EPO, however I feel that he is just that good, simply some athletes just come around, the likes of Jerry Rice for example, that can keep of going at such a high level for what seems like ever. The fact that these reports have been comming out of only france raises the question of its intentions and Integrity
